Well, just got up here at my hotel in AZ and wanted to look at this weeks game.
Lets start the offense tough night for the o-line we were really out played all night and team did a poor job of adjusting the play calling with the heavy blitzing that AZ was doing. Not a screen,slant, or wide receiver screen. If I were a defense cordinator I would be blitzing hawks often in the future. The offensive line has plenty of work too do for the up coming bib ten season. The final drive Ricky taking 4 straight sacks cannot happen really looked confused.
Overall grade c-
On the defensive side of the ball again over the middle we have a problem lots of easy ptich and catch for AZ all night. Overall the defense performance was not bad we played really well in 3rd quarter and got us back into the game. The def line played well as usual we really rotated more often then I have ever seen on the def line. Let's not forget we gave up 21 points from mistakes. So lets not all panic about the defense still going too be the strong point of team. Still really surprised by last drive so give AZ some credit for that last drive.

Speacial Teams well lots of places for improvement here for sure worst speacial teams performance I can remember in a long time. I wrote in my report card for last weeks game against ISU the kick coverage was a problem and it sure was!! Punt protection and kick coverage needs work plus a missed extra point not that it mattered but it did kind of take the steam out on the sidelines because we did not take the lead.

Coaching well not having Norm is something I hope changes def plays better with him on sideline with in game changes. As for KOK the offense side really limited play calling need quicker routes,screens, slants something to get rid of the ball faster. Also on blitz coverage we kept A-Rob in and they were running over him maybe bring in Morse as a blocker, but need quicker plays getting rid of the football.

The overall performance was good and bad started with a rush which you expect when you are on the road we did respond with a good drive then a catchable ball goes for 6 if we score and tie it up we win. But the good is team did not quit last trip we got beat 44-7 this time we did improve and tied game and should have taken lead so that shows great resolve which is great too see we did not ever quit. Which is why season is still going too be a great success for Hawkeyes.

score for grit and toughness B+ great rally and really showed that this team will never give up even when down 20 and everything against you.
