Teams have bad games, coaches, too. I wish it didn't happen, but it does, even to Iowa (too much sometimes, I think). But, this game should never have happened. Not an original thought - but there is no upside to this game, none, zero x infinity.
Maybe it was a $500,000 kiss to his alma mater, not sure, but there is no way Barta should have scheduled this game. Even Delany tried to bail him out of this mess a couple of years ago when he said no more FCS games. Barta should have used that as a reason to drop them; heck, pay them $1 million to not show up - even more dough for his ol' Bison.
Because teams have bad games, take the opponent too lightly, whatever - this is precisely why these games should not be scheduled. If you could sue an AD for malpractice, scheduling this game should be a slam dunk case. We should all get $5 concession stand vouchers for the rest of the season - it's the least that could be done.
