At what point do we just give Ken the playbook back?

This playcalling is an absolute joke. I'm actually worried that the EPA needs to look into the pipes in that Section 8 building where Brain used to live - perhaps there was some lead seeping into the water supply there. Please, please, please, give the damned headset back to Ken and let him call the plays. The offense, save for two decent drives, has been an absolute joke.

If you haven't figured it out yet, Kirk has the playbook. He always has and he always will.

If they are going to run play action end around they need to set them up with a few runs up the gut from the same formation. Iowa always does those types of plays once in a game and it looks like they saw the play on TV and said hey that's a cool play let's run it once.

Play calling was terrible. We have potential but there are some issues with the D and the OL. Hopefully it will sort itself out next week. Stanley is the real deal and threw some great passes. Had he not overthrown the TE's he might have had 7 TD's. Always great to win at ISU. Let's build on it.

I'm not sure how you can call the play calling terrible when the offense scores 44 points and doesn't turn the ball over.

The disappointment for me is that we got ourselves in way too many 3rd and long situations but we also converted on quite a few of those situations so it's definetly nice to see we have the fire power to dig out of those holes. Moving forward hopefully we can get more production on early downs.

Really ugly play calling. O'Keefe would not have done any better though. Let's face it though we have a first year starter with very little game experience sense Iowa does not believe in letting backups get any reps in. In the North Texas game they need to work on hitting those deep passes and getting the backup a few touches as well.

How was the play calling ugly when we missed on a few long ball opportunities yet still scored 44??

the iowa offense's job this year SHOULD BE to get 24+ points, if the defense can't hold a team to under that then it's gonna be a rough time. Today was a rough time. It was one of those "a win is a win BUT........." games. The offense had three 90+ yard drives and scored 35 legit points (the 3 off the turnover and the 6 in OT, I don't count those as legit). That is more than doing their fair share IMO. Offense gets a B for this game. Not putting the game away and not scoring off that turnover are what takes them down. Defense, a D-. Only reason it's not an F is because they did just enough to win the game.

Running up the gut hasn't really been successful enough to set up anything.

OK4P with the early call. I did it as well.
