and i thought about a lot of fans on this website - talking about how KF 'has no passion'.

Here is a link and a snippet from the article:

"The 49ers, up and down under Singletary, could learn something from the more even-keeled approach coach Steve Spagnuolo has taken with the Rams. Players tend to take their cues from their head coaches. Spagnuolo projects passion and intensity in healthier doses. He's in control."

as a coach/teacher/father you have to have different approaches to how you treat your kids. some kids need to be shouted at, some need to be encouraged, some need a mix of both. but that's really hard to do, and its much easier to be one or the other. i obviously strongly prefer KF to say a Pelini style, but it differs quite a bit from what's successful in college versus the NFL.

The funny thing is, Singletary was hired for his passion (and his name). He has done some good things (he has made Vernon Davis a player and gotten alot from some of his younger players), but it is hard to overcome a lack of NFL-quality QB's (and his passion has distanced some of the veterens and coaches)...

There is a middle area between being a zombie and being a raving mental patient, you know.

No doubt. I was always wanting Tom Landry to come uncorked on the sidelines, so that his team knew how desperately he wanted to win.......

Signed,

All the hothead coaches who never won a superbowl.

P.S. How many coaches do you know of have caused a referee to pick up a flag after a verbal tongue lashing? If you can name one, can you name one that has had it happen more than once?

P.S.S. Have you been in the locker room with Ferentz, or at a practice session?

P.S.S.S. Do you think it is necessary for him to scream at a player to get their attention? What does that say about the coach?
