Who plays center next year?
Hopefully they roll out in the spring at 330 pounds and strong as an ox.
I suspect they have been grooming someone.
 
Duwa and Banwart come to mind. Maybe one of the Paulsens could convert? I have to think Kallenberger takes a guard spot, so it leaves them with few options.
 
Yeah I think Duwa and Banwart both showed up on the two deeps at one point.
So basically it's open after the bowl game.
Guess we will see come summer.
 
They'll have big shoes to fill. Render was excellent this year. Possibly Iowa's best center since 2008.
 
I was just thinking the staff might need to understand that part of what makes a 3-4 D work is a dominant nt. Without that, the 3-4 is easily gashed in the run game. Look no further than Wisconsin losing their 340 pound nt.
Now you have Frost wanting to run the 3-4.

I remember posting earlier this year that you have to negate the nt in a 3-4 and chew up those ilb with linemen.
Pound them over and over.

I know James Daniels graduated from some high school because that's what he said on national tv, but while he was at Iowa, he wasn't too shabby.

IMO Render was an upgrade at Center this year. It could have something to do with the OL as a whole being better this year than last. Or maybe Render is one of the reasons why it was. Either way, I thought he had a great season.

RG- Le.Paulsen
RT-Wirfs
