Another Former Hawk Running Husker D

He is mentioned is this article about when Brian Ferentz went to visit with the Oregon coaches in 2015

That summer, Brian Ferentz spoke with me at Iowa’s media day about his Oregon trip. He met with then-Oregon linebackers coach Erik Chinander, his former Iowa teammate. In fact, Chinander was an Iowa walk-on who received Iowa’s Offensive Team Leader Award after the 2002 season, in which Iowa won the Big Ten title and played in the Orange Bowl.

So I guess he won't be having a little side bet with Nebraska Alums about the outcome of the Iowa - Nebraska game.

After a few years, he'll just mosey on down to Arkansas like someone else we know ;). $800K isn't too shabby

Doesn’t matter who’s coaching, their ship has long sailed. The single biggest factor in a college team’s success is recruiting and they don’t have that advantage like they did, nor do they get the glut of extra players.

Kids growing up in Florida, Jersey, Texas, California, etc weren’t even born the last time Nebraska was an elite program. There’s zero reason for 4 star kids to come to their shit sandwich school. Lincoln, NE when you could play in a warm climate or for a school like OSU or Washington, or any other number of schools? Even with their new Baby Jesus Frost there’s nothing that’s going to draw kids in.

They’re on their fifth coach since “Mr. Davis” was sweeping criminals under the rug (I’d say “I’m looking at you, Lawrence Phillips,” but...well, you know...), they didn’t make a bowl this year, and they’ve dropped 4 out of the last 5 to lowly Iowa, not to mention the non P-5 losses.

You think that ginger is going to come in there and make them respectable again? No way.

I think he can make them respectable at the level Crazy Bo had them. I do not see the mid-'90s level coming back. That ship has sailed, IMO.

And he's getting paid really well.

The money is great but there are also a ton of perks. I knew a member on the pelini staff...they could play any golf course, go to any pvt school for kids, access to any vehicles, like $1000 a month to spend on nike Nebraska gear, rarely have to pay for meals out in public....perks were endless

All the nebby fans ive asked say they'll be happy with that level...."cause he'll be a better fit ". I call bullshite.

Just an observation here, but how is it that some coaches can put together a whole staff in a couple of days when it seems to take KF about three or four weeks to name one assistant?
