ANOTHER COLO. QB

I'm surprised he hasn't had more offers. Pretty good Sophomore highlights. Several 45yd to 50yd throws.

What other QBs have we had that primarily passed out of shotgun in high school? Tate?

I think Petras worked primarily out of the gun. Really isn't that much of a rarity anymore, especially if schools have a QB with a chance to play at the next level.

Iowa has extended an offer to 'class of 21 Jake Rubley. He is the son of Davenport native TJ Rubly and nephew of Todd and Terry Rubly. They each earned all state honors at Davenport West. 247 has not assigned star rating yet. He has also visited Notre Dame.

don't forget Trent. :) i played football with trent at west. he wouldn't want to be forgotten.

I remember TJ. Not sure if Hayden offered or not. Need to double check, but I believe he had a pretty good career at Tulsa.

I wonder why so many recruiting trips to recruit quarterbacks from Colorado or from the Emerald Triangle region of California? I guess whoever recruits quarterbacks has one of those special cards from the dispensary.

I believe Hayden's staff recruited him but wanted him to switch to DE. He did have a good career at Tulsa and did have a 5 year NFL career but saw little action.

I saw him play in HS and he was a very good QB. Not the best I've ever seen in the MAC, but one of the better ones.

I’m liking the 20 recruit Hogan. Hope we keep that bible thumping Texan. Kid looks leeegit
Not playing the best competition by any means. Prob 4th tier Tx competition. Last few qbs that came out of that league to any hype fizzled at higher level competition. Hope he’s up to the jump.

Thanks for the insight im not familiar with TX level. Competition or not the kid can sling it and the film shows a very accurate pretty ball(again, I don’t know shyte about shyte when looking at these things)

He's a 4-star by 247's rating, he doesn't have a composite rating yet. Great offer list so far.
Dang that's too bad means we have NO shot at him. Oh well! I think Colorado is more than 7 hours from Iowa City...didn't Kirk decrease his recruiting circle to 7 hours driving from Iowa City a couple years ago LOL.

Well if they are flying private it would allow our staff to load up on medicine for internal treatments.

I would be overjoyed to get a commit from this kid. He is a star in the making. Already making big time throws. Saw a 96 rating for him from 247.

Most kids look good on film. Totally different when everything speeds up and every player is a great athlete or defense. But you never know how quick kids adjust.

The good recruiters are going on more then a guess.

Yeah, he threw for over 9000 yards at Tulsa which would have put him second on Iowa's all-time yardage list. If Hayden would have let him play quarterback it would have been interesting. He probably doesn't challenge Hartlieb those first 2 years, but he probably challenges Rodgers his final 2 years.
