Another blow to the Wolverine secondary?

Loss of Turner thins Michigan CB depth - Big Ten Blog - ESPN

Admittedly, Michigan seems to have a decent mix of talent at experience at the safety spots. However, aside from Woolfork, who is arguably only mediocre to good ... the Wolverines certainly have questions at CB. Furthermore, even with some of their talent at safety, I still think that their secondary is iffy, at best, in coverage.

Anyhow, for those who have been keeping tabs on the Wolverines, it probably goes without saying that they were going to be relying upon a FR or two to step up and provide them with either a few sparks or some solid play. Well, they've run into a few snags, over just a years time (roughly) their mostly highly touted CB recruits have either been kicked off the team (Cissoko), failed to make it past admissions (Dorsey), or decided to transfer (Turner). And, mind you, that is ON TOP of the fact that they just lost their best CB (Warren) to the NFL after the '09 season!

While it is hard to imagine that the young Wolverine D could do worse than they did in '09 ... it's also hard to ignore the sort of talent they lost in Warren and Graham.

The 2010 Wolverine squad may prove to be a pretty good ballclub on O ... however, will their D be able to carry their weight? I don't know ...

Turner wasn't expected to start but would have seen a decent amount of minutes. It's said he was up to 200+ pounds and was in danger of being moved to OLB. Turner fell in love with UM, and later fell out of love with RRod....

That seems to be a recurring theme with a lot of these Michigan players who've been leaving in seeming droves.

As an aside, Cameron Gordon seems like he truly is the real deal. At least for Iowa (and the other teams in the Big 10), he'll still only be a RS FR in 2010 ... thus, he'll still be making plenty of mistakes.
