So he is a soft verbal to Minn but opened his recruiting up a bit back. He visited on Wed and looks like we have a pretty good shot at him. If we got him, I could care less if we lost Darboh (I would love both). Hopefully he is a hawk by next year!
 
This would be a huge get if we could land him. Seems like lately when we get kids on campus, they love what they are seeing and hearing from the coaches, facilities, and the program. I know Homer has said it many times, but this class could be 1 of the best we've ever had in some pieces fall into place.
 
Rivals has a premium article up about McDonald as well saying that he has a new leader after visiting Iowa City on Weds. Good stuff.
 
Call me a glass half empty guy, but I think he breaks our heart and goes to O$U. I think I am just used to 4-star wr's saying no thanks. Is it bad that I hope they keep hammering O$U?
 
This is the WR recruit that I want the most. I love his speed, size, and I think Scout has him under rated at #70.
 
Anyone know his commitment timeline? If he's favoring us the sooner the better. I'd say the good thing about recruiting at WR's this year is playing time. Your top WR is a senior, the opposite WR a junior, and the depth is pretty weak. Then you have a strong-armed junior QB, a redshirt frosh QB, and a quality incoming frosh(who'll likely be redshirted). So, it's likely that you'll have plenty of playing time immediately available and some good QB's to get you the ball throughout your career.

He said he'd like to decide the 2nd or 3rd game of the season. He's going to visit to$u and vandy to see what they have to offer here soon, and then make the call early in the season.
 
One of the deals there is that Michigan has 2 WR spots yet to fill. Darboh is considered to be one of their top targets.

I'd love for Iowa to land Darboh ... however, Iowa's best shot to that end is if ND and Michigan fill up first. And, to be honest, that definitely could happen.

However, all the same, I think that Iowa will land some mighty fine WRs in this years recruiting class. We've already landed a very good one in Wilson and if you can trust twitter we're likely going to land Lile and he's another good one. That then leaves us having to fill 1 or 2 more WR spots.

I'd love for us to land McDonald ... and to our luck, we seem to have a decent shot of landing him.

Thus, that would maybe leave needing to fill one more WR spot. Considering the quality guys who we have offers out to ... Chesson, Severin, Golden, and I. Thomas ... I'm inclined to believe that it's not a stretch to believe that we could land one of them.

I consider it exciting that we might be able to fill our needs at WR with guys who are all high on our recruiting board!

Iowa is recruiting Lile as a WR? I always assumed he was going to be on defense, but that was me with no information, just speculation.
