Has anyone heard anything in particular on Jones falling off the radar? Going into the start of the season he was really the only one who was considered a lock after Mends went down. He didn't play in the ISU game and didn't last long against NIU after a few misses and what I'm assuming were blown assignments. Did Parker/Wallace decide he didn't have the mental part of the game down once they saw him play?

I am pretty sure I saw him on special team and a few other down in the ISU game. Maybe if the coaches are unsure they gave each one the majority of a game to see how they handled it?

I should have said that he didn't have any stats this weekend, I didn't look close enough at ST to see if he was in. I don't think he got any snaps at LB.

I think he'll work back into the mix. He wasn't reading plays right and just being out of position set him back.

I dont know how hockaday graded out but Montgomery did not have much yardage up the middle. With a back like Montgomery you dont want any weaknesses.

Maybe Jones will get some good playing time against UNI. The coaches seemed to say he was just too hyped up in game 1 so maybe let him see the game from the sidelines and then get some playing time.

I remember Tom Poholsky going from very good backup QB one year making several starts and doing well to just bombing at the game 1 starter the next year. It just happens

I think Hockaday may have won the job. He had a great game against the clowns, he was quick to trigger on run plays, and was solid in coverage. Even almost had a pick.

I think we get so wowed by pure athleticism by guys like Jones thay we forget about other solid dudes. Hockaday was the heir apparent to Jewell until he got hurt partway through last year, which caused him to fall. I know it's early, but I say ride with him.

Well, Jones is still listed as #2 on the depth chart. So if anything happens to Hockaday, does that mean Jones is the next man in?

He was in on ST and he was in on the 4th down goal line stand where ISU jumped and had to end up kicking the FG.

He got a pretty good hit on Groenewag on punt return.

Jones looks like a spaz out there. Lots of talent.
