Morris is injured. Minor injuries are actually positive for Iowa at this point. Gets some inexperienced players PT for next year and maybe for the first time in a several years we won't be razor thin at LB with no experienced backups. He also can't possibly play any were than Morris has the last 4 weeks.

Dude's been hurting for some time. We're going to need healthy guys if we're going to contain the Michigan offense.

I think Alston is better than Morris. I hope I'm not wrong and the coaches take notice.

Probably because Morris is overrated. He is not that good. We have a bunch of guys that play on their heels and he is one of them. Oh what I woudln't do to find some headhunters like we use to have. I have maybe only seen one guy who rsembles what I used to love about Iowa football and that is Nico Law.... and he is what a freshman?

Guessing this means Morris is still pretty dinged up. If both guys are fully healthy I don't know for sure who's better, but I can tell you for certain a healthy Alston is a much better option than a hurt Morris.
Nope he will be a JR next year. KF burned his RS last year to play special teams and has only played in a few games this year because of Donnatel. Enjoy him becasuse he will be gone before you know it.

This defense needs a hammer at that position, Morris is not it and never will bring that to the table for Iowa.

Every so often I go back and look at film of what Angerer did from that same spot in '08-'09. Angerer was flat out nasty and played with a mean streak I simply don't see from Morris. Morris has flashed some at MLB but hasn't had the consistency you need to shut-down opponents run games. MLBs needs to be a guy who could carry Samuel L. Jackson's wallet if you know what I mean.

I'd think this was said in a joking manner, yet too often someone, who supposedly 'is in the know' with the Iowa football program (like Randy Peterson of the DSM Register), points to Iowa's lack of offense as the only problem...
Gosh, you gotta read his dopey article about Iowa football in the sports section of today's Register.
And I suppose, Mr. Peterson, the reason why Iowa's farm production was down this year was because there was such a low percentage of cotton grown in Iowa this year???

I am excited to see Alston play, but let's not compare if he plays poorly because we would be comparing someone who has barely played to someone with 3 yrs. of experience. Personally I think Morris is an offensive player all the way. He needs to be used as a H back or undersized TE. He looks great with the ball in his hands, not very good at reading and reacting to other offenses. I think Morris has been a square peg in a round hole from the beginning. Some guys are simply better on offense than defense. I think Morris is an exceptional talent that has been wasted to some extent.
