Defense first. Jackson and Jewell first team by coaches and media. Anthony Nelson third team by media.

Hawkeye Honorable Mention All-B1G on D:

Coaches & Media: Nathan Bazata, Ben Niemann

Media: Anthony Nelson (was 3rd team on coaches)

I have to believe Fant and Wadley will be recognized on the offensive side.
Nope. Let's not get our Mitch King Effect goggles on.

Barkley, Dobbins, Taylor and Jackson have more rushing yards; Barkley and Taylor are ahead of Wadley in Rushing yards, TDs, and total offense.

1st and 2nd team will be either Barkley or Taylor (Taylor avg'd 150+ but Barkley scored way more), and 3rd team will be a toss up between Dobbins and Justin Jackson who had very similar stats. Whoever's left out of those two will get HM.

Fant could end up first team. He tied the highest scoring (and arguably best) B1G WR in touchdowns, which for a TE is quite a feat.

Wadley could make third team. A lot of good RBs in the Big Ten this year. Not sure about Fant, I think the voters love the Wisconsin and Penn State TEs more, they've been around longer. Fant will get his down the road. Congrats to Jewell and Jackson, both deserved first teamers. Good on Nelson, Niemann and Bazata, too.

I totally blew off the fact that there are 2 RBs selected per team. But........I did get it right that Dobbins, Barkley, Jackson, and Taylor got selected ahead of him. So I had that correct, lol. :)

Fant got robbed.

Fant still has a lot of time to prove them wrong. I'm happy to see Wadley made it.

Only real slight I see is Stanley not getting at least an honorable mention from the coaches. Don't get the love for Thorsen at QB, but NW had a better record, so that probably influenced the voters. Not surprised about Fant getting third team, Fumagalli and Gesecki had all the preseason press and had decent years, hard to unseat them.

NW finished very strong too...didn't they win their last 7 games or something like that? Thorson was considerably better last year (at least statistically) and Stanley's numbers this year are superior, so that is interesting to say the least.
