1. DE Adrian Clayborn, Iowa
(6-foot-3, 282 pounds)
Clayborn is looking to build on the momentum from a breakout 2009 season, which included an MVP showing in the Orange Bowl win over Georgia Tech. Clayborn is a massive defensive end with an unusual combination of speed and athleticism for his size. He is mature and plays the game with fire.

#1 defensive player? If so that is awesome. Great player and from what I have heard he is a great guy too (just likes to slap taxi drivers around a bit...which im fine with).

Weird, on draft day his 2011 top twenty contained two DE's and neither were Clayborn. Mel can get annoying but seems to have his stuff down a lot better than Mcshay.

They usually dont take DE very early in the draft, seems to be around 10-15 when they fall off the board, which is still good. So he might be a top 5 talent, it doesnt necessarily mean he will go top 5. If he keeps packing on weight he might go higher.

So McShay doesn't even have AC on his top 20, then he hears numerous other people talking highly of him, so he bumps him up his board...Nice work McShay...

Ya, I usually like McShay over Kiper, but when he listed the top ten for next years draft and AC wasn't there, but now all of a sudden is, not good. I can't remember who, but yesterday, Fox I think put out the simulated first round, North Carolina has like 3 or 4 guys on defense being drafted in the 1st round. I know its early and a lot will happen between, but it's good entertainment.

Kiper said he thought UNC's defense had 8 or 9 potential pro players, thats hasnt been seen since the U had their dominance.
