Will be during exhibition games at this point. Scoring in Division I dropped to 67.5 points per game for the 2012-13 season, the lowest in 31 years. Changes in the hand-checking rule last year helped scoring increase to 71.0 points per game season, although, according to the article, " the impact of the changes appeared to decrease as the season went along and referees gradually fell back into their former patterns."

This was predictable for the first year of enforcement. Hopefully they do the exact same thing with the freedom of movement this year, and enforce it for longer period this year, and even during the conference season. The players will continue to adapt....heck even Wisconsin adapted, and they had their best season on Bo. Basketball is a better game when they let players create and move on offense.

I expected free movement enforcement to fade away, but it really wasn't even there much at all to be able to fade away. The officials gave the NCAA a big middle finger. I wouldn't expect much different this year either.

Don't go there on this site. When my alt tried to argue on CyFan that this wasn't being called at the end of the year and was the reason we (ISU) was on a losing skid, Hawk fans came over called me a whiny clown fan. ;)

Did you happen to watch any of the Battle 4 Atlantis tourney?

Umm, I might have. I remember listening to the overtime game (I think it was overtime) as the wife and i were getting home from somewhere. We listened to the end of the game in the garage and ended up in the back seat before the end of the game. Honestly can't remember if we won, but I know who came out on top! :)

Why do you ask?

Theres seemingly no accountability for college officials, they can interpret however they want .

It's absurd that they dont have a legitimate structure in place to manage and judge these guys.

Hate it.

All that means is that there will be more bad shots and more defensive grabbing.

I don't think the low scoring is a shot clock issue. I remember higher scoring basketball back in the day with a 45 second shot clock.
