ACC - refs calling contact - nice to see a clean game

It is a totally different game than the Big 10 as there is no mugging, grabbing, even tackling that I have seen in the big 10 that is not called a foul.

Arm bars and hand checks, reach ins are called as fouls so the players are really moving their feet and trying to play position defense, and the ball handlers cant just crash into defenders as one dribbler just called for an offensive foul for hooking going baseline.

It is really nice to see players be able to make a move and showcase their talents.

How long before Vitale starts calling for the college game to go to 6 Fouls again because "the stars need to stay on the court, baby!"?

Hey, Dickey V. if you want to clean up the game, the F'n stars are going to have to stop grabbing, checking, pulling and holding! If you give them more fouls to work with, it's not going to stop. You're smarter than that...at least...I thought you were...

lol...Dickie V is Dickie V...but he seems to do a ton of charity work...so I try not to disparage him too much. He's AWESOME with a CAPITAL A Baby!

I get a little bit sick of the constant stoppage of play though with all the calls...it ruins pace of play.

I dont think there are that many more stoppages of play for fouls. Calling it closer makes the players quit hacking and grabbing knowing they will foul out early if they are mugging

Agree with the OP. Also thought the Big 12 championship game was much more enjoyable to watch than any B1G game I've seen all season. Much better flow because players were not arm barring & hand checking. They knew fouls were gonna be called fouls, so they kept their hands to themselves.

Well, MOST teams kept their hands to themselves...Michigan State and Ohio State suddenly stopped having to do that during the second half of the conference season, which will do them no favors in the NCAA Tourney. I can see a lot "double palms to the sky with looks of shock and utter despair" in their near futures. (Why am I clearly picturing a rosy cheeked Ohio State PG when I say that?)...

This will be a positive in the NCAA Tournament. And will help Iowa if they get their defense back.

That's what annoys me most about this skid. Iowa seemed to be playing well with the new rules and suddenly turned into a pack of dogs following the rabbit with the ball and leaving the other rabbits wide open...horrible analogy, but you get my point!
