Congrats to all those who qualified! Some great Hawks on there (too few, though, especially compared to other teams).

Also, anyone else surprised that Pryor made this list? Good for him (especially as his major is Criminology and not something like Sports & Leisure studies), but I have to say I'm surprised given the eloquence of some of his past interviews...

I like how Ohio State has 3 guys majoring in exploring on there. I didn't even realize you could major in that.

Not bad. Wonder what the requirements for academic all-conference are?

By the way, during the Northwestern or Ohio State game, they mentioned that I think all 26 seniors were graduating? That's pretty good...

What you major in doesn't matter as much as graduation rates to most recruits/parents. You see kids mentioning grad rates and whether or not a school provides their intended major but I've never seen a kid care about who majored in what. Total non-issue.....

That's kind of a short-sighted view though. Yeah, a school might graduate 95% of its players. But if they graduate with almost useless degrees, they didn't get much out of their education.

that's on the kids. To be honest 50% or more of these kids would major in football if you let them.

Good thing that Iowa tends to have pretty good graduations rates then.

And, as for the "major" not mattering ... it all depends on the family and the recruit. Many families know that the chances of having their kid land in the pros is no guarantee ... thus, it's a huge plus when it's known that the kid will likely receive the sort of education that will enable him to land on his feet.
