This is one you take, and savior for a long time as a fan.
Here are some positives and negatives.
Positives:
Bulaga - He was beastly on the left side tonight.
Defense - As always the defense was very stout.
Murray - Those short angled Field Goals are very tough, but he got the job done.
Negatives:
Eubanks - At one point in the first half he missed blocks on five consecutive plays, FIVE!!!
Game Plan - This is what was the most frustrating, offensively as great as some of the game plans have been this year, KOK put together a terrible one last night. Iowa's bread and butter this year has been running three and four wide receiver sets and converting on the 5 to 7 yard out and flag routes, and the 7 to 10 yard comeback routes. Iowa ran two wide receiver sets most of the game, and continually ran the ball when that was far and away MSU's strength on defense. What happened to the creative play calling we have seen all year? It was like I was watching a game from a few years ago. To me it came across as they didn't trust Stanzi to win the game earlier. Especially on the 3 and goal from like the seven where they ran the ball to Wegher. Hopefully from here on out we return to the variety of sets and play calls that has made Iowa successful all season long. I almost felt like it was the first time the run game was consistently successful all season long, so they just became very, very vanilla.
Four more games! One at a time, bring on Indiana!
