A special Hawkeye Christmas "Wave" to the kids

In case you are interested, I heard this on the radio today. There will be a special Christmas Wave to the children at the U of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics on Monday December 23rd (next Monday.) Anyone is invited to join in, it will take place right outside Kinnick Satdium. They say arrive a little before 6:30 and the Wave will begin at around 6:40p for about 5 minutes. Bring your cell phone if it has a light or bring a small flashlight.

Seems odd that they would do something at a bowl that is so closely connected with only one team. Granted it is awesome, but bowls are notorious for not leaning toward either team with the extra stuff during the game. The more customized stuff is something I miss at bowl games. About all you get are the band and fan-launched cheers.

Reminded me of this ...

Years ago, somewhere in Ohio I believe, there was a kid with cancer and not much time left for him. He loved Christmas and I thinks it was in October the locals dressed up in holiday attire and showed up at his house singing Christmas carols to him. It was very moving.
