a Matt Kroul story from the Jets camp

I heard this story earlier this week.

Last week after the OTA's at the New York Jets Mini-camp, Rex Ryan asked Matt Kroul to come stand in front of the team. He then told them 'If everyone else on the team worked as hard as this guy, we'd win the super bowl for sure!'

Stories like these have to be good for recruiting. At the draft when the Jets are on the clock, if there are two guys at a position equal in the draft eyes, being a Hawkeye wins the tie-breaker. Just look at the way the Colts are stock piling Hawks.

Great story...worth a bump...especially when the alternatives on here are about fat people and whorish behavior.

Shonn Greene = slacker.

Shonn Greene = slacker.

Based on? His ineligibility in 2007? Right, he's a slacker, but put in the time and effort to get his grades up, move furniture, and THEN come back to win the Doak Walker. Yeah he's got no heart at all.

There were never any doubts about Kroul being a hard-worker, but he's still a *******.

You sure you're not talking about Mitch King? I never heard any stories about Kroul being a dick, but heard plenty of such stories about King.

I've known Kroul for many years. I assure you I was not talking about Mitch King.

OK, now that we've got that cleared up, I'd like to interest you in some prime real estate, just below the Saylorville Dam. Cheap building sites - no irrigation system required.

Ooof. Somebody's joke meter is way off today...

I did read on the Jets website (sorry, I can't remember where exactly otherwise I'd post the link) that Shonn showed up from the off season 5 or 8 pounds over weight and the conditioning trainer said he was a little concerned. I just hope that Shonn works his butt off this year and has an awsome season as the Jets starter.

Did the story go on to explain how he was hazed in the locker room by the veteran for standing them up in front of the coaches.

Wasn't he overweight in the summer at iowa? Not too worried.

Oh great, I suppose he referred to him as Rudy at the same time too.

oh no the Shonn Greene weight rumors?!

Going into the fall of 2008 reports had Greene weighing anywhere between 250-300 lbs...we all know how accurate those were.

I read on the official Jets site that he bulked up and maintained his quickness, which is what the coaches wanted.

"He looks as though he’s added some weight while maintaining his quickness. The extra padding will be essential during the grueling season when he’s getting the bulk of the carries."

as a Vikings fan i gotta say that this reminds me of what Adrian Peterson did last season- bulked up in the offseason but made sure he kept his speed and quickness (AllDay just needs to work on holding on to ball now tho lol)
