A loss like this leads to internal strife

This is the type of loss where finger pointing begins. Teammates turn on each other and one side of the ball blames the other. Look for them to pack it in. A coach with his persona doesn't have it in him to right the ship when the season unfolds like this.

Players can only go so long getting forced to lose by playcalling and I wouldn’t be upset at all if one of them got frustrated enough to say something. It would be football suicide with Ferentz though.

Man 1-3 now in the Big Ten. I would like to think they can beat Minny, but OSU and Wisky could be ugly (maybe Ferentz gets his W he should not). Purdue could be 50-50, Nebraska a dumpster fire but probably still 50-50 there.

Doesn’t really matter. There is nothing to play for now, unless you count another massacre in a bowl game as a goal.

As others have asked ... why the shock?. Everything about this entire season was expected to be 50/50.

Today was 50/50. It was a pretty meaningless game between 2 average teams. Lose and it's 49/51 to finish .500, win and it's 51/49 to finish .500.

The only effect of today is we all get to hate on the Hawks for a few days and feel crappy for a week. Other than that it doesn't move the needle.
