A FEW openings in the Polk County I-Club Football Golf Event

This is from my friend Joe Chmelka of the Polk County I-Club...I've been to this event four or five times and it's probably my favorite annual rubber chicken event of the year.

The Annual Polk County I-Club Golf Outing has openings for 3-4 groups this year due to some last minute cancelations. This first class event is held at Wakonda Country Club in Des Moines on Monday 6/16. There is a Noon shotgun start that includes box lunch, cart, golf and a fantastic steak dinner and program after golf. There are tons of great prizes and each group will play with a Hawkeye VIP that may include a current or former football player, coach, member of the athletic department or VIP like Bobby Hansen or Gary Dolphin. The cost is $400/player or $1600/foursome. Please contact Jim Carney at carney@carneylawfirmiowa.com or at 515 689-3189 if you or your group would like to play in this great event!

I think it would be fun but I would expect more than a box lunch for $400. :)

And I can play 10-15 rounds of golf for $400 bucks, just saying.

Or 7 rounds of golf and 4-5 outings at El Bait Shop.

Is this a charity fundraiser?

come on man - it's put on by the I-club.......what charity do you think they are raising funds for?

do you complain too about the value you are getting from girl scout cookies in comparison to what you can buy at a store? :)

Haha, good reply but the Iclub and U of I athletics are not a charity. The I club does well getting money for athlete scholarships but it is all big business.

I could also donate more than I do to the Iowa Food Bank.

the charity thing i said in jest as a response to you - obviously it is a fundraiser. the reason they do well is because people actually attend these things and donate money.

Next thing you are going to say is you could buy a brick and have your name put on it for far less money than $nameyourdollaramounthereforequivalentdonationrequiredtogetyourbrickputintheathleticsareaatuniversityofiowaathleticsareas
