A Blessing in Disguise

This NIT run has done more for this team than 1 or 2 games in the NCAA tourney could have. We're watching Fran's program come together right before our eyes.

DAMN, I'm excited about basketball again!!!

And nobody deserves this more than Eric May. I loved that dagger 3 !

While I agree with you drummer, lot of guys said the same thing 2 weeks ago when the pairings were announced. So many know it alls on here, couldn't pooh-pooh it enough, some even said Hawks should turn the NIT down. Idiots!

Someone should zombie some threads where people were saying this team was a failure, and that they would not watch the NIT.

Totally agree and been sayin so from the gitgo.

There's a certain karma in it. This team has folded under pressure and lost a number of games it should have this year. That's why we didn't make the tourney.

The NIT has forced them to do just that...and they have. This game and @ Virginia were both gut checks... and the Hawks responded. We're a better team than we were 3 weeks ago...a better program than we were 3 weeks ago.

This isn't a "what if"... "woulda coulda shoulda" discussion. This is about what really happened the last 2 1/2 weeks..and it's been nothing but great for our basketball program.

Period.

well its helped the team for sure... but like if it was the actual final four the other team would be in tears.

Maryland players had a look on their face that was 25% irritated and 75% could give a f***

It's helped for sure but it's still luke warmish.

They still posting here, they are the "fans" who come here to make us feel like sh1t for celebrating a NIT win. They come out in force after every win.

This NIT has been crucial for us to learn how to close out games in which we have the lead or are in control. Two in a row now, might as well make it three and win the damn thing. I truly believe these last two especially, have given us loads of confidence and belief that we can finish games. Huge for a team who wants to compete for the top 4 in B1G next year.

I have definitely enjoyed the NIT run, cheering and celebrating every victory, but lets be honest we are only playing for what...69th place? Yes, it has been good for the team to grow...but so would NCAA experience and I'm not willing to concede that we would have been done after the first weekend.

Dez Wells sure looked upset when he fouled out, but I'm sure you're right, he probably didn't care.

And some people on here are most likely laughing at you not with you...

Really doesn't bother me its just I've always been an even keel type person.

This NIT has been good for the team - but it's still the NIT and the intensity really doesn't come anywhere close to an NCAA game.

It's not even as intense as a big ten game.

C'mon now

This is the dumbest logic ever. Yes, we're worse than Liberty and LIU-Brooklyn.
