5 star changes commitment due to Facebook stalking

So let me get this straight. Kid commits to MSU, then there is a coordinator change and he decides to re-open his recruitment and starts looking at the rival In-state school and fans of the first school get PO,d?

Is he really surprised? Before FB, this same dialogue would be happening in local sports talk radio and message boards. There is just a way for it to happen more nationally and for it to be more personally attached to an individual with FB.

I have a secret for these players. There is this thing called a privacy setting and another thing where you can actually ignore a friend request. Learn about them or stop complaining.

This is great. Just tells me we need to start a bunch pages where we look like Alabama fans and start stalking Cyrus K. We could also do the same with all the B1G schools that we battle for recruits.

Boom, advantage Hawkeye Nation. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

That's garbage. The burden of responsibility is on the adults, not on the child.

That's besides the point, there is always going to be bad apples. He's using facebook as an excuse for not wanting to go out and say he doesn't believin the MSU program since the coaching change.

He's a senior in high school, so what "child" are you referring to? Maybe if we start treating college athletes more like adults, they'll start acting like adults. Enough with "I'm a man, I'm 40." High school and college kids need to take responsibility for their actions.

You do realize we are talking about people from Mississippi, right?

And yes the burden is on adults. The adults who are raising their child. Seriously, if you don't sit down with your kid and have a good long talk about privacy settings and being selective about accepting friends, particularly when your kid is a highly recruited athlete, you are asking for trouble.

Fair enough. But in a situation where an adult is acting stupid, and a high school student is acting stupid, I beleive the adult should know better.
