49ers to Super Bowl

Lifelong, Niners fan here and I must say this trip is the most rewarding in my lifetime and I have seen all 5 previous.

I wasn't sure the Kapernick switch was the correct one at the time, but only because of the timing, not to say it wasn't the right one to make.

The 49ers defense has a lot to shore up heading into the Super Bowl and if they play the Ravens the hype surrounding the game will be greater than the game itself. The topic of "who is the best football family" will come up over 1,000 times.

Glad to see 49ers make up for their own blunder of last year and get the job done this season, thanks to the emergence of that Davis guy today, finally he was thrown the ball.

I anticipate a knock down, drag out Super Bowl no matter who they play, the media has to be wanting them to play the Ravens though, me it doesn't matter as I am excited to see them back where they should have been last year, but it wasn't meant to be.

You are welcome- Jo-Lonn Dunbar LB for the St.Louis Rams. #Ramsnation

Had Smith not gotten hurt, I still think the move would have happened, just was a better opportunity to do it when Smith got hurt. I just don't like losing your job because of an injury, but it is Harbaugh's decision and it looks to have paid off.

Backups being better then the starter happen all the time in sports but for some reason fans think its inconceivable that Kirk could be wrong when it comes to that. Also Smith lost his job because Kap was better not because he got injured.

I don't care for Ray Lewis so I am hoping the 49ers crush them. Especially watching the GM get hugged by Ray Lewis from behind last night in the locker room and exchange some awkward moments.

My wife was laughing hysterically, I was just weirded out.

This is something that more people are on your side. However, it is pure speculation as to another QB would have played better this year, no one knows for sure, NO ONE.

KF maybe or may not have been right.

You are right that know one knows for sure. But someone saying he was for sure right is definitely wrong. There is just no way to know until someone else plays. Sorry for the derail... GO NINERS!

Complete agree, it goes both way! It would have been so nice to see someone else.

I grew up a Joe Montana fan so I have always liked the 49ers.

Enjoy it ma friend, the Rams are going too be a force for a few years to come as your boys found out this year.

If and it is a big if, the Rams can become a force again, it will be like the NFC West battles of old and if SF/Rams can both drill the Seahawks, even better.

The Rams have a solid defense that would be helped by a better offense, but what are they going to do with Jackson? What direction is their offense going to go from there, they seem change who they think they are game to game.

FYI, Fisher is a great coach and will turn them around faster than what people think, it still confuses me why he was fired.

The hate/dislike for the Seahawks is mutual. The Jackson situation is tricky because obviously as a fan favorite and still an above average back the Rams would like him back. But his cap number this year is something like 9 mil, that is obviously far too much for a 30 year old running back. With a lack of cap room this year it seems that unless he agrees to restructure, they will let him walk and land with hopefully a definite playoff bound team.

Without Jackson I think we will be fine if Sam Bradford keeps playing well and we maybe add one receiver but mostly need Amendola to be healthy. Daryl Richardson is the future RB he showed flashes for the first half of the year when Jackson was banged up. With a full year I think he proves to be a good NFL starting running back.

With last years quality draft I think the team is only a few pieces added in this years draft or free agency away from the playoffs. Although the west looks to be rough for near future I feel like we could overtake Seattle for second behind the niners.

I have never felt Jackson was a RB that would take a team to a Super Bowl, like LT, as good as they are.

The Rams need to stock up on WR's if they are going to rely on Smurfendola to be Welker-like every year. I like Amendola, Dallas was really dumb to let him go. His size is concerning and with injury issues last year, it would be wise to look ahead there.

Build through the draft, they have been doing a good job of it, but if they go free agency, don't overspend, that is something SF learned with Clements. SF did spent a lot on Justin Smith, but he was well worth it, no injury history and been a great player since he came into the NFL.

The one thing the Rams can't do is lose sight of their lines. Draft at least two offensive and defensive lineman if they have the picks, can never have too much depth there. QB's with good o-line play will be able to have success with average receivers and Secondaries with some holes look a whole lot better if the d-line controls the line of scrimmage.

We have had this convo before... I thought we were in real trouble after that first quarter. We gotta get to Flacco and I think will be ok

The defense was just awful all day, outside of the last drive.

I don't think I said anything good or bad during the game until the 3rd quarter, little upset.

I may or may not have been calling for Smith early in the game ha.

I didn't go that far, the defense was so bad, that said, my brother whom I was texting during the game told me to stop crying about QB play.

When Atlanta went up 17-0 all I said was "game over" and "qb hasn't proven he can come back from a deficit, or play two good games back to back"

My mood changed when Ryan through the INT, but changed again with Akers...wow is he bad this year, SF cut the wrong kicker last week.

Sounds like Cundiff may come back this week. Akers has to still be struggling from that Hernia.

If that is the case then a switch has to happen, well maybe not has to happen because it isn't like Cundiff has made any pressure kicks. I still can't believe he missed a 38-ydr in a dome with the game not on the line.
