That is the way to look at it I think. Enjoy the Rose Bowl and relish it if they win, if not I hope we can enjoy.

We have family in town and we have been entertaining, cooking great italian food, playing with 2 of the grandkids. Kids and grandkids take away a lot of the life and death attitude of college sports.

Here's the way I see it:
+Almost everything that has been needing to be said has already been said - in some cases, several times. There must be 50 or more journalists writing daily articles for Iowa out in Pasadena. Don't get me wrong - they have all been good reads. But there is little more that can be added, especially now. It is time to quit the chatter and get on with the kick-off;
+With a bowl game on New Year's Day, a lot of us want to get things done in the days before. Some of us have holiday company or are at a holiday destination. And more than a few of the posters are headed for Pasadena. All great stuff unless you are looking for tons of posts here;
+I'm already sensing a "jinx factor" in which some Hawkeye fans are getting scared to say or do ANYTHING in fear it might jinx the team's effort tomorrow. If you were alive to see the three previous Rose Bowl disasters, you know EXACTLY what I mean.
Yes, we are in the "calm before the storm". But a lack of posts does not mean that all of us are not going to be "cheering until we are hearing the final gun. Trust me - in person, via TV, radio or internet, we'll be there with bells on - in 25 hours....
