4 weeks until kickoff...

So I totally dropped the ball on this one here. Especially considering I was so lazy on Saturday I pretty much didn't even leave the house. Anyway, we are sitting at 4 weeks until kickoff (little less than that due to the lateness of this thread). Time to delve into a new subject. We previously touched base on bloody mary recipes and moments that let you know that it is gameday.

I think the next section I will break down into two parts, one for this week and one for next. So for this discussion, what is your favorite warm weather tailgate food item or recipe? On those days when it is 60-70 degrees out in the parking lot, what is the tailgate favorite?

I'm a huge fan of dips and nothing really works better on warm days than cracking some beers open and munching on appetizers. I have two standbys that always please.

One of them is a BLT dip.

It's basic, easy to make, and goes good with anything from pieces of bread, to crackers, to chips. My advice on taking this up a notch, take one or two spoonfuls of the bacon grease and mix it in as well. This recipe also says to put the tomatoes in right before serving, I say screw that. Mix it all together the night before and let it sit in the fridge. Give that bacon plenty of time to mingle with the dip.

I have also had good success with buffalo chicken dip.

You can either make this the night before and then reheat it on the grill or just do it right at the tailgate. Just mix everything together into a casserole dish, cover with foil, and put on the grill. This particular recipe calls for ranch dressing but you can easily sub blue cheese dressing if you take blue cheese with your wings. This is one that works both with crackers and tortilla chips.

Your 2 late for 4 weeks my man. That twice you have been tardy. So your fired....
Ah just joking.
The best meal for warm weather comes in a 12 oz can. Miller F-ing High Life!

By the way Norwalk did your house shake Saturday Night at 11:30 when that 70 mph wind storm came through? Wow I thought for a minute it was armageddon coming!

Those temps are late season tailgating weather down here. Which still just seems wrong. There is something that just doesn't seem right if I'm at a late October or November game wearing shorts. I should be cold, and wearing a coat, and full of "anti-freeze."

Might have to give the buffalo chicken dip a try though.

Since 60-70 degrees is "cold-weather tailgating" in Central Florida, I'll gjust go with my two fave dips for tailgating.

First is my wife's Reuben dip. Stuff is awesome. Chopped up corn beef, sauerkraut, russian dressing and caraway seed. I like to use rye crackers to dip.

My other fave is a simple salsa: tomatoes, green bell pepper, onions, jalapeno peppers, cilantro and a dash or two of red wine vinegar. Simple but tasty, for chips, crackers or whatever.
