4 Super Conferences

If we are indeed headed to four super 16 team conferences and a resulting playoff type system from those 4 conferences, then who cares who the big 10 adds to fill out the other 4 spots.

The following is assuming that each conference champ would go to a final 4 scenario or each division champ from the 4 conferences would make an 8 team brackout or 8 spots of the bcs.

It would actually be in the favor of Iowa and the other big 10 teams to add the likes of syracuse rutgers maryland and missouri, rather than teams like notre dame, texas, a&m, virginia etc etc from a competitive standpoint.

If that is where we are headed I hope we add the biggest markets and best academic institutions and not the best historical/current football teams. We have enough history now and in this system sec and other conference fans could run their mouths all they wanted about big legged prehistoric big 10 style football, we would get a chance every year to see our best vs theirs.

As you pointed out it still does matter who the Big Ten adds. The reason teams like ISU, K-State, Baylor, etc. are not sought is they do add revenue and thus adding them would actually decrease the share allocated to each Big Ten member.

That's why... if you are not getting Texas....

The next best are Notre Dame (which is a maybe)...

Followed by Rutgers, Maryland, Georgia Tech

Missouri - St. Louis/KC Market, decent research/academics
Pittsburgh (mega research dollars + academics)
Viriginia - DC/eastern seaboard (good academics/research/decent market(s))
Kansas - KC Market, good b-ball, academics but we won't take K-State
Others ?..... Syracuse ?
