This is one of the more interesting recruiting stories that I've seen recently. 3-star OL Cody Clay visited Tennessee, and had offers from UCLA, Fresno State, Utah, and others. He passed them all up to attend D2 Azusa Pacific, where he'll be coached by former LA Rams OT Jackie Slater.

There was a similar story from the state of Iowa a few years back. A lineman from Ames had a handful of BCS offers, including ISU and Kansas (before they were terrible), and passed them up to play DIII baseball at Grinnell College.

Its the best little town from A to Z in the U S of A, and its close to a bridge to nowhere. Sounds like an exciting place.

It's also a private Christian school and perhaps that is important to the young man.

It's bible belt country down here near Knoxville. Altho Knoxville and UT aren't exactly the most religious of places. Some kids just prefer the smaller stage too. No pressure no limelight. If your good enough for the NFL when that day comes you'll get your shot regardless of competition in college
