2018 OL Cody Ince

Welcome Cody!

I think this ends up a pretty typical Iowa class ranking wise, and should be the 3rd very solid class in a row for Iowa.

Iowa landed its eighth verbal commitment in the 2018 recruiting class late Sunday night when Wisconsin OL Cody Ince announced his pledge on Twitter:

You can't judge classes until they've shown what they can do. Rankings don't mean much. I'm kinda embarrassed for you.

On some level I agree, but at the same time if you have the 10th ranked recruiting class it's going to be better than the 80th ranked recruiting class. A 5 star is no guarantee to be a great player, but I'll take my chances with the 5 star over a 3 star. Ultimately, the only way to judge the class is in hindsight, but up front the rankings are the only thing you have to go on.

If recruit class rankings were 100% accurate, then Notre Dame would have won 30 of the last 40 National titles.
I'm just saying a lot of magazines and web sites cater to certain schools with large national followings.
"Tell 'em what they wanna hear."
