2018 Big Board

On QB, are we certain they want to take one this year? I know they try to most years, but could we possibly use no QB this year as a selling point to Duggan, or to double down on their efforts with him?

IMO, there is a strong possibility either Wiegers or Stanley transfers after this season depending on who gets the nod. That being said, I think the odds of getting Duggan depend on which type of season we have this year. If we have another 7 or 8 win season or worse, I wouldn't expect that to happen.

Funny that a kid would actually base a decision on a couple wins in one season that's played well before he steps foot on campus.

You make a good point on the transfer note. You'd think they'd like to have someone simply for depth's sake. However I agree with PCHawk that this season likely wouldn't influence Duggan too much. 2018, on the other hand, could be very much so.

I doubt he waits until after his senior year to make a decision, but if that's the case, I'd think the success of both of Iowa's next 2 seasons will play a role in his decision, with this season having a larger effect.

pretty sure this was part of what AJE stated he needed to see. He committed after 12-0. :) I actually think a qb friendly system is more important than wins; though, I agree with "t" that a kid that can go anywhere, wants to win games and championships.

I'm not disagreeing that it's a factor. I'm just saying it's funny how when you're a kid, it's all about the now. As adults we know that going 6-6 or 10-2 this season has nothing to do with what the team will look like for the time he's here. But kids can't see big pictures, mostly because they haven't been alive long enough.

Gotcha. I would appear I deserve 15 yards for illegal procedure.
