I will not forget it.. So many memories with friends and family at Kinnick and Indianapolis. I can't wait for the 2016 Season to start. This coming from a guy who wanted KF gone! :)

As for the negativity on HN that's not surprising. Message boards typically bring out this type of reaction, it breeds off of negativity. It must really suck that you can't enjoy a 12-2 Iowa Football season. lol Iowa went 12-2 folks and your crying. Cue the trolls in 3 2 1..

happy happy happy with this season. All i can do today is shake my head at all the negative bs on this board.
 
Well said, it was a fantastic season. And I also wanted KF gone.

We finished the regular season 12-0; had a shot to going to the playoff; played in the BIG championship game; and the Rose Bowl. I doubt I have a chance to see another season like this ever.
 
I'm 46 and this is honestly the best season experience I've ever had. My family has had our Season tickets for 28 years the negativity is completely whacky to me..
 
Great season. Rough ending.

One game does not define a season.

Personally, I think we will be better next year. We likely won't have a better record, but I think both the offense and defense will be improved overall, by how much depends on if Ott and/or King return.

DMX is going to have a big year, really like his skillset.

Go Hawks, regroup, work hard, and do it again !

It was a good season.

Its comments like this that make my hair hurt. We aren't ISU.

WE SHOULD EXPECT to be 12-0 next season. The schedule is even easier! The team should be better.
 
The last two games let some air out of the whole thing, but 12-2.. I certainly will not complain. It was a fun ride. Especially given what the pre-season expectations were for all of us (except for Hawknick).

I agree the team should be better overall. But the schedule is not easier, and I'm not sure "expecting" 12-0 seasons is realistic.

I go into every season and go into every game thinking Iowa will win!! But if it doesn't happen I don't flame out..
 
It was a great season, a perfect regular season where the hawks controlled most every game.

Way above my expectations and a great Big 10 Champ Game. The hawks did not play well in the rose bowl and Stanford had a lot to do with that.

It's just a bunch of lunks who don't know how to handle disappointment and think throwing tantrums on a message board means demanding success or something. This board is incredibly unreadable after most losses.

It's comments like this that make my hair hurt. We aren't a blueblood program. There's only a handful of them that have reasonable expectations to go 12-0. We aren't Nebraska either so we should set reasonable expectations.

12-0 is, of course, the goal for the team. But you don't have to go 12-0 to make the CFP.

And look at the schedule before you say it is easier than this season. One, it isn't. And two, I don't want to go through another season of 'they haven't played anybody'. Do you?

Don't know how much "easier" it is next year. We drop Indiana and Maryland from the schedule and pick up Michigan (at home) and Penn St (at Happy Valley). We again have an FCS opponent, but it's an upgrade in that next year we play North Dakota St; they will be either the FCS champion or runner up as they are in the FCS Championship game to be held Jan 9.
 
I don't think anyone is trying to say going 12-2 isn't a good thing. They're saying we shouldn't act like we should all act like we are just happy to have a good season because "Iowa just doesn't have good seasons that often." That is a DEFEATIST philosophy. A winners philosophy would be lets go at least 12-2 next season, Let's finally show that we do belong. A lot of you seem to just throw your hands up and say "Iowa is not as good as the top teams and never will be"

edit: the general attitude of the fanbase seems to be that of the Cubs a few years ago. Lovable losers. If the Cubs start making the playoffs every year just to lose in the wild card, I can tell you, fans would turn much quicker on the team now that they have a taste of winning and fresh blood. In college that is directed at the coaches, since the players are amateurs. Iowa does not have a winner attitude. This is caused by the long drought in the 60s 70s and relative mediocrity of Fry (gasp, but look at his record as an outsider in the long run) and Ferentz. That is why Kirk Ferentz is defended and nearly deified (wont name names) by so many when objectively, he is not worth 4 million dollars a year.

I agree. Running the table in the regular season is once in a great while thing whether at Iowa or most anywhere. No reason why the Hawks can't challenge for the West again.

Would agree it was a great season!! Been attending games since the 81 season, and have attended every game since graduating in 92 home and away, plus bowls, so many amazing memories from all the games with friends, family, and hawk fans.

This season had so many great memories two night games at Kinnick, and wins over Iowa St, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska 3 of 4 on the road, the Championship game in Indy, and the hardest hitting game, I can remember in a long time, and we came up just short, and then an amazing trip to Pasadena, yes we played poorly, but still an amazing family trip, and great memories, so if you cannot be excited about a 12-2 season that is your lose, life is to short to be angry, and ****** off all the time!!

We should all thank the players and coaching staff for really laying in on the line this season!!! It takes a tremendous amount of dedication and commitment, and not just talking about it but doing it, and this team did!!

Already looking forward to 2016 home opener at Kinnick, and see what journey the 2016 Hawks will take us on. Go Hawks!!
