2015 Recruiting Class Misses

I see that ATH T. Barlett committed to Washington & DE/DT R. Williams may wind up at Michigan State. Once again, Iowa can't close any deals.

I'm hearing that this might open the door for LB Whalen from WI & DB N. Wilson from Dowling. If that's the case, then I think that this staff doesn't know how to evaluate talent or is just not motivated in getting top flight players. Very sad!!!

I'm not very impressed with this class at all. Cook & Boyle don't impress me. Those scholarships could've gone elsewhere. I'm intrigued to see what Newborg & the Paulsen twins can do. I guess Waechter will be here as an early enrollee in January. This state lacks talent compared to other states.

I don't know how this class will round out for Iowa. We need some kind of star power to boost our ranking.

You must be new to Hawkeye football so let me tell you how iowa recruiting works.
Typically we get handful iowa farm boys for lineman (this I am okay with). Then we get a handful of unranked, 1 star and 2 star skill position guys. We will land 1 some times 2 Qb's from the the high flying Des Moines high schools. Sucker in two OL or DL with 4 stars one of which will change his mind at the last minute and go to Wisconsin. BUT dont let that bother you because coach has been know to poach a couple of guys from Delaware and Drake on signing day.

In looking at the recruiting list I think we are right on track so dont worry my friend.

How could this be considered a poor recruiting class? We brought in jack of all trades and future coaching superstar Brian Ferentz to reel in the big fish out of Pennsylvania and Ohio. I have not looked at the commitment list, but based on that fact alone, I am assuming we are right up there with Ohio State and Penn State on the recruiting rankings.
