2014-2015 B1G Schedule

Maryland and Rutgers both home? Yawn.

B1G should go 2 divisions and play division 2x and other division 1x = 19 games vs. the current 18. No big deal.

The B1G will compete with the MVC in RPI if they went with that plan.....If RPI still matters by then

IOWA
Home: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Rutgers
Away: Indiana, Michigan, Penn State, Purdue
Home/Away: Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Wisconsin

At first glance I see a 9 -11 win range as the most probable, more possible, and less not likely but there's a chance. It's difficult to predict until we know all of the defections and additions but most importantly how well the new rosters gel for each team.

Or maybe 9-9. That seems to be our thing lately.

Yea, I see that as most likely, too:
Home W's = Illannoy, Maryland, Rutgers, Minny, Nebby, NwU
Away W's = PSU, P-doo, NwU

Home L's = MSU, OSU, Wisky
Away L's = Indy, Michigan, Minny, Nebby, OSU, Wisky

If can get 10 W's in non-conf + 1 in BTT, I could see another 10-ish seed, as long as not a concentrated collapse at end of season.

Anything less than 20 wins, even with 9-9 in B1G, and it's NIT.

I am not optimistic about winning at Illinois, Maryland or Michigan State...glad they are home only. I am optimistic that we can win at Indiana, Penn State and Purdue. I also don't expect any of these road only teams to be all that good...no RPI bump from playing them twice.

Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin all look to be pretty good next year...can see us splitting these. Ohio State is a likely split. Northwestern should be a sweep. It looks like 8-1 at home and 4-5 on the road. Since I'm always overly optimistic I am going with 11-7 instead of 12-6. IMO 14-4 is the likely ceiling and 9-9 the likely floor.

Wisconsin swept us this year and next year they return everyone but Ben Brust and you see the Hawks splitting with them next year?

Wisconsin will be a Top 5 team and possibly the Pre-season #1 ranked team.

Yes I do. They swept us but the game in Iowa City was the perfect storm for Wisconsin. We were right there in the game at their place. We have played them tough for 3 years running now so no reason to think we can't get a split. They aren't world beaters and Brust will be missed. He's one of those guys that makes those "Big" shots under pressure and he rarely misses a free throw.
