2011 WR recruits

Iowa has a lot of offers out to WR for this class. A few that are highly touted recruits and a few unheralded (as of right now). What are the odds of getting a few bigger names, and who do we end up with (very early I know)?

Shepard and Lee-- sound pretty interested per TOS.
 
I think it will depend on what happens during the season. To a large extent, Iowa is considered a running team. However, if Stanzi can really get the passing game going and the Hawks can score some points, and if the receivers start getting some national notice, it will help alter that perception.
 
Not sure how many the staff is planning on taking this year I'd guess 3 minimum. It seems like Iowa is leading for Grant, Gaines, Lee and Shepherd at this time.

And it would be great if Iowa could get those guys to commit eventually too. Definitely seems like a VERY solid group of WRs!

With the concentration of interest from a good number of guys ... that often leads to the cascade effect of drawing at least one of them out to commit. Going off of Ferentz's MO, just as long as the kid has visited and adamantly states that he'll stick by his word ... we'll take 'em!

Not a surprise ... but definitely a pleasant one!

Now with some of the interest at RB, it would be nice to get one of the RBs to pull the trigger too ...
 
Excellent news. Looks like a great pickup and a great start to the class of 2011. Sounds like a McNutt type of reciever.
