A week out from the first game, time for some game by game predictions that will be horribly wrong by the end of the year.....

Tenn Tech 17 Iowa 34
Iowa 24 Iowa State 16
Pitt 24 Iowa 27
La-Monroe 13 Iowa 45
Iowa 16 Penn State 19
Northwestern 27 Iowa 34
Indiana 17 Iowa 21
Iowa 38 Minnesota 20
Michigan 27 Iowa 24
Mich State 26 Iowa 24
Iowa 21 Purdue 13
Iowa 17 Nebraska 31

8-4 (4-4)

I am keeping my expectations low so that I am not overly disappointed if this happens.

Tenn Tech - W (31-7)

After struggling in the first half Iowa finally gets it together in the 2nd half and pulls away for the easy victory.

@ Iowa State - W (17-10)

We are all sitting on the edge of our seats as this one is not over until the very end. ISU's hail mary attempt in the last play falls incomplete.

Pittsburgh - W (24-20)

Iowa jumps out to an early lead but Pitt makes a late run in the 4th quarter to make the final score close.

Louisiana Monroe - W (35-15)

Iowa jumps out to a big early lead and cruises the 2nd half.

@ Penn State - L (20-21)

This game goes back and forth with Iowa unable to hold a 4th quarter lead.

Northwestern - L (21-24)

Hopefully the kids will have lost the remote so I do not throw it through the TV. There will be at least a 5 page thread on having KOK fired after this one.

Indiana - W (28-3)

Team rallies after 2 tough losses and puts a thumping on Indiana.

@ Minnesota - W (24-10)

The team is motivated to get Floyd back home where it belongs. The final score will be closer than it should be.

Michigan - W (31-29)

National televised game with both teams 6-2 coming into this game ranked in the top 25. Coker goes nuts in this game but Michigan will make it close in the 4th quarter failing on a 2 point conversion.

Michigan State - L (17-28)

MSU comes in fired up seeking revenge for the past couple of years. MSU scores the last 2 TDs in the 4th quarter to pull it out and ruin Senior day.

@ Purdue - W (27-21)

Iowa falls behind early but makes a 2nd half run and able to pull it out at the end.

@ Nebraska - L (17-20 in OT)

Another nationally televised game with the Huskers ranked in the top 10. Nebraska is needing to win this game to get into the B1G championship game and Iowa is playing spoiler. This game is a dog fight all the way through the game but Iowa gets beaten in OT. There will be another big forum thread on why KoK should be fired.

Iowa ends up in the Gator Bowl where they crush Florida 35-17.

I don't necessarily disagree with the overall record, but there is no way our defense will give up that many points.

sure, some of the games look bad. but he has the opposition scoring a total of 250 points. divide that by 12, and you get right at 20-21 a game. that's not too bad considering we have a lot of question marks on our defense at this point

I have picked them 8-4 possibly 9-3

I have us beating NW this year. Had us losing to Purdue but with starting QB on the bench I have changed it to a win. Hope so as I am at that game. Last time there Hinkel and the boys won a close one. I expect Pit to be a tough game especially coming off an ISU victory..

Obviously we would like to see the Hawks run the table but with a new QB and replacing the number of starters we have done. 9-3 would probably be a great year.

If we are healthy at year's end NU just might get a surprise.

Tenn Tech Vs Iowa: Win, but we look rusty.
Iowa Vs Iowa State: Win.
Pitt vs Iowa: Win, Pitt is rebuilding right now so we should be able to win.
La-Monroe vs Iowa: Win.
Iowa vs Penn State: With two week to prepare Iowa beats PSU.
Northwestern Vs Iowa: Iowa's annual loss to northwestern.
Indiana vs Iowa Win, hopefully not as close as last year.
Iowa vs Minnesota Win.
Michigan vs Iowa Michigan has a new coach but not the players, Win.
Mich State vs Iowa Tough its been back and forth, gonna go with MSU for now
Iowa Vs Purdue: Purdue has its stars back after a season of injuries, they will be a surprise team this year, loss.
Iowa vs Nebraska Loss although it will be close.

Season final: 8-4

Iowa has not given up that many points in a long time. That is more than our defense gave up in 2006 (243) and I think if Iowa gives up that many they could be looking at a similiar record.

garandx, you have us losing our last 3 games? i don't see that happening this season. screw it, i will run through it for fun

Tenn Tech- W
Iowa State- W
Pitt- closer but W
LA-Monroe- BIG W
PSU- W
NW- spirit night, we right the ship against them. W
Indiana- easy W
Minnesota- W
Michigan- L
Michigan State- W
Purdue- W
Nebraska- W

yup, 11-1. didn't plan to end up there, but i like our chances against every team we play. at least no one really scares me. big 10 offensive player of the year, marvin mcnutt

Im on the fence about MSU and nebby, I think purdue will really shock a lot of people this year. If last year taught me anything its to set expectations low.

You have question marks on the D, most of us don't. Even though we lost some quality players, Clayborn, Ballard, Klug, Sash, we have players that played alot of minutes and practiced against a quality offense all last year. There is no way in gods green earth that this team will give up 20-21 pts a game. I could live with 13-15 pts a game but no way they give up anything more. I predict they will be even better than last year and will have fresh legs in the 4th qtr. because of true freshmen and redshirt freshmen. The offense will be better and score more points than last year and the only question is special teams. If ST are good, we may surprise the national prognosticators big time.

Wont happen back to back. One of them might get us but not two in a row. I dont think they both get us. If I put money on it right now I say we get them both. Penn State, Nw,(sadly)and Nebraska are the ones to look out for. I dont think we lose to all three though.
