How many of the 5-Star prospects, based off Scouts.inc does Iowa have a realistic chance of landing...

Those currently offered by Iowa are:

Braxton Miller-QB ranked #1 at position

Cyrus Kouandjio-OT ranked #1 at position

Jameel Poteat-RB ranked #5 at position

agreed on Miller. Think Hawks are looking at Cardale from Glenville as more of a possibility. Could be good odds if Miller goes to tOSU

Could have a decent shot with Kouandjio with him being from the same HS as Coker?

Based one what i have read we are not at the top of any of their lists, but once they sit down with KF i bet you will hear them talk about Iowa and their Coaching staff..that dosnt mean we will get any of them though..

The most important question is whether we can get them to come over to Iowa City on an official visit. If we can get them to visit ... then the chances look up from there.

My current vibe on the aforementioned guys ... I don't think we have much of a chance at this juncture. However, as many rightly point out, you don't have a shot if you don't offer.

Why are you still hung up on the star ratings? Are you new to Hawkeye football? Iowa is legendary for taking quality athletes and turning them in to big time players. How many of the 5 star players that USC, Ohio State, Florida, are riding the pine because of the glut of talent. Its a popularity contest. Iowa just builds great players regardless of stars. Maybe in another ten years you will get it.

This is true, but as mentioned with this discussion every time, you need some quality, high star guys too. If we don't get these guys life will go on, but I sure would love to have a few of these guys on my team. If you think our team would've been the same without Moeaki, Dace (when healthy), Clayborn (4*) last year, you are sadly mistaken.

I agree.... and I would argue that a high star guy in basketball is much more important than football. There are only 5 guys on the floor so 1 guy can make a bigger difference in basketball compared to football.

No doubt. This guy must not have been excited after we inked the 2005 class, either. Please save the "how did half of them turn out" comments. We all know Iowa can turn a lump of coal into diamonds... but the more *'s the more publicity we get -- like it or not.
