2011-2012 NBA Champs?

Lets get a pre-season pick. Who do you think will win this year. I have to go with Heat and I'm being a little bias as a lifetime heat fan. But come on who else is going to win. Go big 3.

All depends on what happens with the Lakers. If Chris Paul & Dwight Howard end up in LA with Kobe, they will be the better big 3 and the favorite to win the championship.

If that deal doesn't go down, I will say the Heat will be the favorite.

As far as who i want to win, I'm a bulls fan.

Bulls are a solid team I have them being the only one to pose a threat to the heat but I don't see the lakers getting more than one of those two guys so not too scared of that.

Still too early to tell since the FA period hasn't even started yet.

If the Bulls can get a decent 2 guard to take some of the pressure off Rose, they could be really dangerous.

What does Boston do with Jeff Green?

What does Miami do with their midlevel exception?

And that's just the question's for the eastern conference contenders.

If the Lakers have Chris Paul, Kobe, and Gasol that is good enough to win the title. They need Paul.

Mavs are toast. JJ not resigning and looks like they won't bring Chandler back. Lebron will choke again unless he lets Wade be the closer.

I hate to say it but the Celtics (I hate them). With a short season, the veteran team won't get wore down like they normally do. They will be used to not having Perkins and will BE BACK!!

I got to go with my team, the Bulls. Hopefully they do score a 2 guard and then are good to go.
Several teams should be good this year though, Bulls, Heat, Celtics, Thunder, Kincks, and Lakers. I think the Mavs and Spurs both fall down a peg and the west is not as good as the east.
It would be really awesome if the Big 3 never win a title together. That would make me very very happy.

While the season is shorter in number of games, I'd say it's actually more grueling than a normal regular season. It's not like they're just starting it on Christmas and playing a normal schedule. They're cramming a bunch of extra games in there to get it to 66 and eliminating a bunch of off days (while forcing teams to play back-to-back-to-backs which usually never happen). I'd wager that this season is actually harder on a veteran club due to the lack of off days.

I think that it's way too early to know who to pick, but I would say that based on potential trade rumors, these teams are the favorites right now:

Miami
LAL
Chicago
Oklahoma City
New York

If any of those teams adds Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, or both, they become the hands down favorite(s). Based on the rumors I have read, I think Chicago has the best offer for Howard (Boozer+Noah+draft picks).

Don't think so, Kobe is finally starting to show some wear, is the compressed schedule only going to make it worse? Pau disappeared down the stretch last year, will he bounce back? And if Bynum is gone and he has to play more center will he wear down faster? Also, Paul has had injury issues himself. i don't think LA would be the favorite with just adding Paul.

Miami over OKC.

Unless Chicago or LA get Dwight.

I'm interested to see how Kobe's body responds this year. During the summer he went to Germany and got some "advanced" (read: illegal in the US) treatment on his knees. Supposedly he's going to be back to where he was 3-4 years ago physically. If so, the Lakers are definitely the favorites.

Hey now don't be hating on my heat. Lebron deserves a ring, but if any team would win besides the heat I want the bulls to win as well.

I'll believe it when I see it. Once your body starts to go it usually doesn't come back, unless you go play for the Suns, but if it does works there will be a long line of athletes getting the PRP treatment done.
