In 2004 Iowa lost an early game in the desert and then came back to lose a game to the eventual Rose Bowl representative. On the final week of the season the eventual RB rep was upset while Iowa beat another team that thought they were destined for roses. Iowa went from 4th to tied for first in the conference in one glorious day.

Also remember Iowa had a historically strong D line with three future NFL players, that line also got winded at the end of games. They also had a surprising all-league QB, and corners that played Iowa's cushion coverage as it is annoyingly designed.
 


Yeah, 2004 ... one of my all-time favorite seasons.

But that was a long time ago. The loss to Wisky still stings, as does the loss to Arizona (damn dessert trips!). I'm concerned about the conditioning of the DL over the last 2 weeks and OSU is rolling ... hey, wait a minute ...

I see what you're doing here, with the loss to AZ being like the loss to ASU and the loss to Wisky being like the loss to Michigan and the chance to upset OSU being like the beat-down of Wisky and hoping that Wisky loses to Michigan or NW and hoping that Mich St loses to Penn St and BAMM! -- Hawks are co-B11 champs again and off to the Cap-1.

It's like ground hog day! ;)
