This November 1st marks the 20-year anniversary of the shooting which took place on Iowa's campus. Hayden Fry elected to play the game the day after, in Columbus, to boost the morale around campus. The players stripped their helmets so they were all black, and they came out of Columbus 16-9 winners over the Buckeyes.
With the 20th anniversary this year, I would like to see Iowa strip their helmets as a tribute during their game on November 5th against Michigan. That game is in Kinnick, and is not on senior day, homecoming, or parents' day. Therefore, paying tribute to the victims would not put a somber note on what is supposed to be an occasion to celebrate. A few others I have spoken with thought that this was a great idea, but really I have no idea how to get it in motion. Thoughts?
