2 teams in bcs?

Is there still a shot at getting two big ten teams in the bcs? If we, WI, & MSU win out, that would would put us in the Cap One bowl if they both went bcs. I'm sure the capital one bowl would love to have us, since their bowl reps called kinnick the loudest stadium they'd ever been to!

Do you really think the Cap One would take Iowa over Ohio St? Yes I know a few years ago the Outback took Iowa over Michigan, but OSU is a different animal and I don't know the last time OSU went to the Cap One.

Cap One reps were at the OSU-PSU game, Cap One reps would love OSU not to make a BCS game ;). Last time playing in Cap One was vs. Tennessee in '95

Thanks fufred, I knew it had been a long time but I didn't think that long, I was thinking the late 90's early 00's, anyway I'm sure the Cap One reps would love Iowa to win to all but eliminate OSU from the BCS.

Really, I don't think we're getting picked over OSU in that scenario. But I don't see that scenario happening, either. Penn State I think will beat MSU, and with the way the Nits have been playing, they could be in serious contention to jump us. That's not even mentioning the fact that it could very well be JoePa's last hurrah, and EVERYBODY is going to want that if they can get it.

Ohio State will be in the BCS regardless of what happens Saturday. They'll get picked over MSU because they're a known commodity (butts in the seats) while Sparty is not.

Iowa's best bet now (unless MSU loses at PSU) is probably the Outback.

If they lose to Iowa they will more than likely fall out of the top 14 to be eligible to be picked as an at large then who knows where they would be ranked if they beat Michigan but it isn't a sure thing they would climb back into the top 14.

They're 9th right now; they're not going to drop five spots if they lose to a ranked team on the road.

If Iowa beats OSU they wont make the BCS. MSU will win out and make the Rose and Wisky at large. Not sure why so many people are giving Penn State the win over Mich st...Penn State is not good

You're right, we haven't seen that happen this year, Iowa didn't drop 9 spots when they lost to a ranked team on the road or Alabama falling 7 spots after their loss to a ranked team on the road or Oklahoma falling 8 spots after their loss on the road to a ranked team or Michigan St falling 9 spots, should I continue?

Maybe. To the people that make the decisions, a 10-2 OSU is just as attractive as an 11-1 MSU.

Talking BCS standings here. If Iowa only dropped 7 after losing to an unranked NW team, OSU isn't going to drop 5 after losing to a ranked Iowa team.

Even if they were to drop 7 spots (to 16), you'd think that win over Michigan would get them back in that top 14.

It isnt a decision to make...11-1 MSU is the automatic qualifier to the Rose. Not up for debate if OSU loses to Iowa

Yeah, that's true - hadn't thought about that. MSU is kind of the forgotten team in all of this, and they handled Wisconsin way back in September.

So then it would come down to Wisconsin or Ohio State.....interesting.

Wisky will be higher ranked, have the head to head W and a great traveling fan base. I think that makes them the obvious choice

It doesn't matter if they are in the top 14 with a loss to Iowa because as stated above, MSU would go to the Rose and Wisconsin would take the at large bid over OSU anyway.

I'm not saying you're wrong; I'm more inclined to lean that way as well. Just saying it would be fun to be in that room when the decision is made whichever way it goes.

You also have to keep in mind that I'm assuming OSU wins this weekend.
