Hypothetically speaking, if Iowa football ends up at 7-5 or worse next year, Iowa basketball doesn't get to the NCAA tourney this year or next season, will Gary Barta, Kirk Ferentz or Fran McCaffery still have their jobs?

My predictions:

Gary Barta- No
Kirk Ferentz- Yes
Fran McCaffery- Yes

That is a good start. Sally Mason needs to go as well, then Barta, and then you get in 2 new coaches. Iowa City needs a facelift, tummy tuck and a boob job (a total transformation) in the worse way.

I'm going to guess that the W/L records don't matter.. As long as people are still going to the games and the coffers are full, there will be zero changes across the board. If attendance slips, and hence revenue along with it, then MAYBE some changes will occur.

Myself? I think a total house cleaning is in order, all the way to the top. Hawkeye sports are a mess.

You are kidding yourself if you think Bart will fix either of these teams. I say there is 0% chance of change unless it starts with Barta. Barta gone? other two are on immediate notice. Barta here? they write their own contracts for Barta to sign off on.

If both programs are bad enough that we have to fire the coaches.... The AD had better be the first one out. Hire a new AD to hire the new coaches.

The first guy that absolutely needs to go is Barta. Then we need to get Gable to step in as interim AD and put him in charge of hiring the next AD. Once we got our new AD,if KF does not go at least 9-3...let him go. If Fran misses the NCAA,let him go. Hopefully we got the right AD in place to make those hires.
