    The problem with Trump

I was giving you example of fact checking from a website that does fact checking. The bullet points are verifiably false statements. You can go on that site, and find that there are similarly fact checked statements that Harris made, which were also objectively false. I was attempting (in...

    The problem with Trump

Thanks. Appreciate the thoughtful response. Tricky thing with Trump, he's like... permanently triggered in my opinion. He calls into Fox and goes on massive rants and they try to contain that, and they are arguably trying to be his cheerleaders. Like you said, some of that is on him.

    The problem with Trump

I have a couple of questions on that: 1. What were some examples of bias in terms of the moderation? 2. Do Republicans think Fox and Newsmax are unbiased, and virtually every other news source is biased? These are honest questions. Hearing things you don't want to hear is not always the same...

    The problem with Trump

Here are a few from factcheck.org Trump repeated his unsupported claim that “millions of people” are “pouring into our country from prisons, jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums.” And he said these migrants were “taking jobs” from “African Americans and Hispanics and also...

There may be different ways to categorize his claim that immigrants are eating pets. I'd call that a lie.

New rule in 2024 cost Iowa big time

Good thoughts. My hesitation with the 2 pt play was the fact that they were inside the 3 yard line twice and couldn't score a TD. They were 0 for 3 in terms of punching it into the endzone from the 3 yard line or less. Yikes. I hope the offense evolves, as this is familiar territory for...

New rule in 2024 cost Iowa big time

Going for the 2 point conversion with a sketchy red zone offense is inconceivable (imagine the last word in "The Princess Bride" intonation).

Fantastic post. This is the way= That's football. Snort. Chomp It's like you're reading my mind. I'm starting to wonder why I would sacrifice significant time on a Saturday (whether it's TV or in person) to watch this and expect different results. Full disclosure: I was not in a good mood...

    OFFICIAL FIRE TIM LESTER THREAD

You're right. Man, I miss Stanley, and Iowa fans even hated him. Petras, Hill, whomever. It's beyond individual players (although it would be amazing to have a really talented QB at Iowa.

    The party is over

I like your thinking, but beating OSU this year seems extremely unlikely. IF they can beat Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, etc, that might be a reasonable expectation. Nebraska and even Illinois look reasonably good. If Iowa can't run the ball down ISU's throat from the 3 yardline (twice)...

Exactly. Great post. Cade missed Gill in the end zone once. That alone would've won the game. The failed two point conversion also played a role in the loss. In any event, you're not going to beat good teams by settling for FGs when you're on the opponent's 3 yard line TWICE.

    CBS production value

I agree. The camera work (very high definition), the drone views, the sideline work... all of it was excellent. The sleepy old dudes, not so much!

Nearly every team does the same against Iowa. Going to games last year, it was pretty wild to see the entire defense within 5 yards of the LOS at times. Other teams should, and will, do this against Iowa until it burns them (which it likely won't). When Purdue had our number for a couple of...

The health of the people in our country

Thank you for bringing logic, reason, and scientific principles to a message board. Maybe there is hope for our country. For those who are interested, a meta-analysis is the highest level of evidence that exists in research. A meta-analysis statistically combines findings from many studies...

    Preview, Prediction: Cy-Hawk '24

Great post. This game is always close. Turnovers and being able to run the ball seem to decide this game just about every time.
