Part of me almost wants Fran to get an early T....

...to let the refs know early on that their bullshit homer calls with Izzo in their ear ain't gonna fly tonight. If that doesn't work, then he needs to be ready early and often with the timeouts because in Breslin, if you let them get out to more than a double digit run, then it's over.

Some scheduling things to be aware of....

    1. Wisconsin is tied with us in the loss column. If the teams were seeded right now based on the B1G seeding model, Wisconsin finishes up with the 6, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 seeded teams and we finish up with the 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 seeded teams. In other words, our finishing schedule is much more...

Not sure if anyone saw this BS tweet from ESPN over the weekend....

    U serious Clark?

I loved Connor's quote after the game....

"It's unfortunate they feel the need to do stuff like that. But if he's going to, we'll take 2 shots and the ball and we'll take the W too. He cost his team the game."

If you haven’t seen the excerpt...

of Chad Leisikow’s recent sit down with KF, go see it now. It might be the greatest 6 minutes I’ve ever seen from KF. Between his waxing poetic about Hayden and putting his staff together, emotional KF, followed by snorting KF...it’s freaking epic!

Wait...so could we end up playing Bama in the Citrus now

We’re at #16, which is the 2nd highest B1G outside of top 12, just behind Michigan. But Michigan can’t go to the Citrus based on rules. So if OSU goes to CFP, Wisky goes to Rose, and PSU goes to Orange...which is how it would fall out as of now....I think that puts us in the Citrus against Bama.

    I have a feeling....

...that we’re bringing an ambush to Ann Arbor. This is such a soft Michigan team and their dline is undersized and just ripe to get pushed around. I think this is going to be similar to our 2002 beat down. We’re gonna take their manhood and show it to them.

Wisconsin 2019 reminds me a little of Iowa 1997

In 1997, we had an all-world running back, a damn good receiver, and a decent defense.....but an avg, at best, QB and kicker. We absolutely boat-raced teams early on.....we avg'd about 56 points in our first 4 games while giving up only about 10 points. Then we ran into Ohio State and Michigan...

Craziest stat regarding the game I've ever seen....

In the last 10 years, there have been a total of 500 college football games played where one team averaged 7.7 yards per play or more and the opponent avg'd 4.3 yards per play or less. The higher yards per play team in those games was 498-2. 498-2!! Iowa State from Saturday night is one of...

    Is there cause for concern?

In 2 open, public practices Nate has been, at best, below average. In Wednesday's camp pictures, it showed Oj with at least 2 interceptions, which would have been against Nate since KF always goes 1's v 1's. There haven't really been any positive comments on Nate's performance during...

    Divisionless B1G Setup

Deace had some interesting thoughts regarding how he would setup the B1G without divisions. While I agree with the premise, I disagree with the approach. First, he had 8 conference games, with 2 protected rivals and 6 random plays via lottery using some version of how the NFL sets it's...

BTT Quarterfinal Appearances since 2014 (last 5 years)

    MSU - 5 Michigan - 5 OSU - 4 Purdue - 4 Wisconsin - 4 Indiana - 3 Maryland - 3 Nebraska - 3 Illinois - 2 Northwestern - 2 Minnesota - 2 Penn State - 2 Rutgers - 1 Iowa - 0 Body of work!

Did Zion’s injury cause Cook to shut it down?

Seems outlandish to those of us that know he’s nowhere close to an NBA player....but to Cook, who sees himself as one, it’s certainly plausible. Why else did he quit on the season right about the same time?

At least with Mr. Davis’s teams, we never had to worry about effort

The full court press with guys that weren’t all that athletic would drive you nuts. The swing offense and passing it around the key with the baseline bounce pass to the post would make you pull your hair out. The sagging zone leaving 3 point shooters open would cause more than a few broken...

What is it with this team’s obsession with outside noise...

Jbo at it again referencing “negative fans”. I’ve never seen a program or players so caught up in what others are saying/thinking about them. Pretty much speaks to their ability to focus on the task at hand...

    There’s no question...

...this team has officially quit. But why? That’s what I don’t get... We were a 21 win team coming off a thrilling OT victory against Indiana and gunning for a double bye in the BTT and then just packed it in? Makes no damn sense!

What's with all the dribbling lately?!

Our offense, up to the Michigan game, we were as good a passing team as there was in the country. We would typically have nights where we would be assisting on nearly 70% of our made baskets....which is why we got up to the Top 8 in the country in offensive efficiency. Ever since that game, it...

So is it fair to say that Fran's next incident will be his last as Iowa's coach?

Buyout notwithstanding, the University can't keep enabling Fran, can it? I would have to think that a 3rd strike would result in his dismissal....

Can our turnaround this year be chalked up to one single area of improvement?

Last year, we gave up 37.6% from 3 point range....which ranked us 303 in the country (out of 351 teams). This year, we have given up 31.5% from 3 point range.....which ranks us in the Top 50 (#49 out of 351 teams). That's a huge turnaround. Given that the majority of the rest of our stats are...
