    Ahmad Wagner a Hawk

I think you've heard one word for both Hutton and Wagner and it is one key ingredient that has been mentioned countless times over the last two years: toughness. I think Caff is looking for guys who are going to battle, compete and get after it, regardless of what perceived position needs he...

ESPN has already started their campaign

This is exactly why I wanted Auburn to win yesterday. I wanted to hear all the SEC crying begin. And this scenario is exactly why I think college football is a joke. Winning is why you play sports. Period. That's it. There is nothing more to a season other than winning. In every other sport...

Thought the Offense Had Turned A Corner Last Week...

KF's strategy has been and will always be to shrink the game, and play conservative. It's who he is. It is very frustrating to watch. Of course, I'm not sold on GD by any stretch either. The last two weeks he's come out with a great game plan, only to watch OSU and NW adjust and shut down this...

Will Ferentz ever have another great season at Iowa?

I'm a KF guy. I don't hide it. But it's tough to see another great year. KF is battling an uphill climb that I just can't see him conquering. If you look at all 3 units, there are flaws that just are too tough to overcome. They continue to have lapses on special teams. The defense just doesn't...

Any one else think the QB battle should be reopened after today?

Offensively, everything has been covered. But offensively, it just looks like there was no plan if MSU took away the run. The offense looked lost, flat, and completely intimidated. The second pick Jake threw looked like "hey, we have no idea how to move the ball so let's throw this up for grabs...

1 thing the doubters are missing...

While this fan base shouldn't be planning any trips to the Rose Bowl just yet, the fact that this team is winning should be a positive. As already mentioned, what other team other than OSU has shown the ability to run us off the field this year? That doesn't mean pencil in 8 or 9 wins, but there...

    Miller vs DiNardo on Twitter

There have been some great points made in this thread. But you want recruiting to level a bit? Try a playoff system that encompasses the entire landscape of college football. Give every coach, every team a chance to compete at the highest level. That is the difference in recruiting in my...

    The O-Line

I think there are 2 key factors here: New QB: Teams are going to stack the box until Jake proves he can win games. No threat on the outside or down the middle: When you don't threaten the game vertically, either down the sidelines or in the middle, the safeties can creep a few yards closer and...

    Tight Ends

This staff still looks as though they are not on the same page offensively. Identifying the identity of this offense and this program is a must. Who are we and what is our bread and butter. Great offensive minds understand what they want to do. They have an identity. They have strengths and play...

This program does not know how to win

Actually, that one isn't counted, it was 18-13. But point taken. I would agree.

This program does not know how to win

It is really a shame to see KF losing this program. I am a big fan of his. And there were a lot of positives today. But it boils down to this team finding ways to lose games. And that starts with the head man. If I'm correct, KF is now 3-10 in the last 3+ years in games decided by 4 points or...

Ross P to Alabama - For Real

First of all, NFL is a different ball game brother. That doesn't mean he isn't the best college coach around. MSU....so, because he was mediocre at MSU....15 years ago....he isn't he best now? I'll use 116-19 since MSU, as well as 3 of last 4 titles as my proof. Say what you want about him...

Ross P to Alabama - For Real

This is just college football. You have to be relentless on the recruiting trail. That is who Saban is. Committed players only matter to the top 10 programs in the country. Meaning, most committed players aren't switching from a top 10 program...unless its to another top 10 program. Everybody...

What are your expectations for next year?

I don't see why we have to 'temper' expectations. Iowa has to start setting its 'own' standard and measuring itself to it. Like it or not, a run like this in the NIT, and 9 of your top 10 coming back should equal high expectations. That should be Iowa's standard. That should come from inside the...

Better PG play, or we will be a NIT regular

I actually think in two years, MG will be the 2 and AC will be the 1 and this club will have the best backcourt in the conference. Clemmons has hit a freshman wall and has no confidence. These two guys are freshman, learning the ropes of the best conference in America. I'm not saying you can't...

    Hawkeyes Dreams Dashed in Chicago

I'm all for saying this club found a way to lose...that is true. I'm all for saying, this club doesn't deserve a bid....this is true. I'm all for saying, this club isn't tough enough.....that is a fact unfortunately. But college basketball, and this league in particular, is unwatchable at times...

    Offensive glass

Everything has really already been said: This club doesn't deserve a bid going 1-7 against the top 5 teams in the league. This club has found ways to lose close games all year. Guard play was really poor. Officiating the last 10 minutes was brutal. Can't turn the ball over 17 times. The...

    Officiating

Izzo's squads benefit from the reputation of being a physical team, and games they play in are officiated as such. I don't think that cost them the game, but it was complete chaos at times.

    Irish being thumped 21-0

Saban is the best recruiter, he prepares his teams better than anyone else, he develops players better than anyone, and he is the ultimate motivator. When you do those 4 things, play calling and in-game decision making become pretty easy. He is really unreal at this level.
