If the Hawks don't sign Coco, which imo is a no brainerfor next season, I don't see them signing anyone else for 2010. as there no quality players out there that are all that interested in coming to Iowa.

I believe John Streif is DBO for the Hawkeyes. There was a lot of talk about reassigning John so that Fran would have another position he could fill. Haven't seen anything more lately on this....has anyone else?

Having Dre on the team and playing some might also help energize the students to come to the games to support him and the team.

Imo Penn State and Rutgers will be in the Ford and Wisky and Minny in the Motorola. It makes no sense to do otherwise as the travel distance for those teams increases dramatically to do otherwise.

Neari leaving sure has an impact tho, if Fran doesn't get another guard for next fall, imo. It will be one less guard on the team for next season and we don't know how good Neari would have been, given a chance, versus all the other non-ball handlers that are on the team. It very well could end...

Also, what gives the faculty reps the authority to ignore the stated intent of a Big 10 rule and effectively override and rewrite the rule. And where does this stop? Apparently they can change any Big 10 rule brought before them with impunity.

Lute was at Iowa longer than Ralph........both were great coaches. The top 3 are in a class by themselves in Iowa bball history, imo. Who was coach when Murray Weir played?

I agree with Hawkincal........or Thomas out of Detroit Mercy. Fran should look to give the Illini and anyone else a run for their money in Chicago or anywhere else with the guys he has on staff.......recruiting will determine how successful he will be at Iowa and ex-Hawkeyes, other than Rodell...

With Bowen the real problem with him being an assistant is that he brings little, if anything, to the recruiting side of the job and this is a big shortcoming in a critical area of the job at Iowa, imo. At big name schools like Duke and North Carolina, it would not be a problem but at Iowa...

Now USC is real close to home........and not all their games are on tv or the computer, like in the Big 10.

From a BC site, it said that the new coach was running off the new recruits as they didn't fit his style. Kind of like what Crean did when he took over at Indiana. Thus, apparently don't blame the recruits in this case.
