IOWA sorely needs toughness, and without Gatens, there isn't any upperclassmen willing/able to lead. Marble offers no leadership at all, being a junior and handling the ball as much as he does, it would be nice if he could lead.

The tournament expanded to 48 teams in 1980. That was lucky for the Hawks, as they didnt have the creds to be in the first 32(if it was 32, they would have needed three wins to the Final Four, but as it was they won four games to get to the Final Four).

Granted, the video is a highlight reel, he looks really smooth, very fundamentally sound, nice handles, and of course, that smooth stroke. He seems to get how to use his body for space, and has a feel to move. I wonder if that translates well to college ball( I would assume so).
