So are we excited about basketball?

Yes! Excited there is one less game of the season remaining!

Fran's kiddos are so replaceable, yikes this is one baaaad basketball team

College BB is a guards game and in year 10 Iowa doesn’t have the guard play to compete against DePaul who is one of the worst teams in their conference. And we are expecting Iowa to compete in the Big Ten?

Official 2020 Big Ten Champs vs. What The Hell Is A DePaul Thread

Because nepotism rules in Iowa athletics. Fran “ALMOST” made the Sweet 16 for first time in 20 years so that’s the pinnacle of Iowa hoops of past two decades and given that Fran is often runner-up in recruiting he deserved an extension to prevent all those teams from calling. I have wanted...

Official 2020 Big Ten Champs vs. What The Hell Is A DePaul Thread

Glad to see fans finally seeing the farce that Fran is in year 10.

STORY: Hawkeyes Miss Out on Key Recruit Xavier Foster

Yours must have posted as I was typing my reply. You said it even better though.

    Murray Twins Commit to Iowa

It's not the players who need to prove themselves. They have 4 years to do that anyway, it's Fran who has had 10 years to prove himself. Lickliter no longer has anything to do with Iowa basketball and is no longer a factor in what Fran is doing/hasn't been able to do.

STORY: Hawkeyes Miss Out on Key Recruit Xavier Foster

Bingo! Glad someone else sees this reality. Iowa, is a mid-tier power 5 conference team. Nothing will change that anytime soon. Barta is happy with where Iowa is at.

    Goofer luv

Good for Minnesota but it just pisses me off more as it shines a light on Iowa’s lame offense even more.

    Goofer luv

To think if Iowa doesn’t win today or next week their chances at a division title is nothing but a distant dream for several years. With Minny, Purdue, and Wisconsin having newer coaches with innovative offenses and each understanding their identity, Iowa continues to chug away with what...

    Exhibition Thread!!!

We’re making these analysis based off a scrimmage against a guy named Lindsey Wilson??? Come on.

    We won, that’s all.

Yes. We won. That IS all. Offense is still horrendous

So are we excited about basketball?

I wouldn't say Iowa is respected honestly. They are routinely the punch line of jokes and Fran being the biggest target and just the lack of any national relevance as well. How many of Iowa's recruits are recognized by national analyst on Twitter or other forms of media?? Iowa basketball is kind...

    Kenyon Murray Tweet

No you are not. The 4 recruits, not a single one has a Power 5 offer. This is why expectations are and continue to be mid-tier conference hopes and bubble tourney team. Much like a mid-major team expect

So are we excited about basketball?

This along with the mid-major talent have resulted in 0 BTT weekend appearances and 0 Sweet 16 appearances and 0 Big Ten Conference or Tourney champions With the Murray twins now committing, that fills Iowa's 2020 class. No Foster.

    Drivers seat belongs to ............

How do we know that though? Just as unsure as Iowa winning out. But given what we’ve seen from Minnesota so far that is more likely than Iowa. Also, did Iowa suddenly become less predictable and more offensively creative because Wisconsin lost? This shows that Illinois is not going to be an easy...

    Drivers seat belongs to ............

I get that but “should’ve” doesn’t mean crap. Iowa “should’ve” beaten PSU and Michigan. But they didn’t. So fact is Iowa has 2 losses and Minnesota has 0.

    Illinois Upsets Wisconsin!

So what? Iowa already shot themselves in the foot. Great, Iowa won. Doesn’t make any of us feel like that fixed their offense or predictability. Still behind Wisconsin and Gophers. And now Illinois looks more challenging.

    Drivers seat belongs to ............

Wait, has Minnesota lost 2 games I didn’t know about? Did Wisconsin losing suddenly change Iowa’s predictability and inept offense?
