    Hecklinski at Bucky

He really talked Brown up over the summer. Spoke about making a lot of progress grasping the offense, but as we know, results or progress week to week is how they are going to evaluate.

    Hecklinski at Bucky

Brown seems to be Lester's guy. Really talked him up. But both have been "very close" according to staff for QB2.

    Penn State Coaching Vacancy

Oh and does Dylan Riola go with Rhule? One year left of eligibility. But I think it's Rhule. Very fickle with his statements and his eyes gave me the sense he was giving "coach speak". They were darting all over the place.

    Penn State Coaching Vacancy

Not that we are hanging on the edges of our seats, but thoughts on who they go after? I think Cignetti is out. Indiana will throw more money at him and he is building a program over there. Granted PSU has cache of money, but I don't see it. Plus, he doesn't seem the type to jump ship. Now...

    Logan Jones

I truly think Iowa is trending back up with our O-line again which is what we do here. Obviously, it starts with our center, the quarterback of the line. But I'm seeing this group work well as a unit. Hoping this continues.

    How bout them Hawks

When Graves took that hand off....I mean picked that pass off, immediately I thought about Adrian Clayborne at Happy Valley years ago. For the record, I'm still going to argue that was a pick 6 by Graves! Give it to him! Let the big man have his day! LOL.

    How bout them Hawks

That and how Fickell spoke in the post game about how this game was discussed and talked about all off season. Prob wasn't the best thing to bring up after a 37-0 curb stomp. Ooof!

    Ethan Grunkmeyer...

I'm heading to IC on Saturday to take the game in. I'm nervous. They just saw us dismantle Wisconsin and obviously with their emotional week of losing Allar and Coach Franklin, they could play with a lot of emotion. I would prefer Iowa to focus this week and put it on Penn State. I hate when...

    Vander Zee

He seems to have emerged as TE1. Had a bit of the yips early on, but seems to have settled in. Hopefully the game is slowing down for him. Granted I think we're fairly thin there. Large had a catch or two. Almost came down with a ball down by the goal line. I'm guessing being a converted...

    Vander Zee

Agreed. The jet sweep to the far side was sniffed out pretty easy. I liked how we used him against Indiana. Caught a slant and a screen. He does scare me because he gets a bit ballsy. His decisions on punts sometimes scare me. But I like his acceleration after he gets the rock in his hand. But...

    Vander Zee

I think he got some good reps and along with Weetjen, both create some issues for defense. I was happy to see Vander Zee back and making a few key catches. Seems we are doing our best to get Weetjen into the offense too. I like it!

I would love to see Iowa continue to keep the momentum. I am also hoping as Iowa teams do, get better as the season progresses and gel.

    Roasted Badger for Supper

Definitely. Iowa had their 2nd and even 3rd team at the end of the 3rd quarter on defense, and they went fairly conservative on offense. I was actually kinda surprised when we went up 30-0 they didn't immediately pull Gronk. Interesting seeing Hecklinski go in. Would like to see more of him to...

    How bout them Hawks

I don't think he helped much in his presser earlier in the week. Made mention how Iowa had bullied them in all aspects of the game last year and that was not going to happen this year. He gave Iowa a chance to say "Hold my beer." I bet they wish they wouldn't have given Paul Chryst such a hard...

Iowa Football And The Coaches Poll

Rumor had it Adidas was part of the driving force or maybe the reason why Penn State acted so quickly. I think after their loss the previous week, they had several 4 and 5 star decommits as well. Is it true that if your coach is fired midseason you can immediately enter the portal and go to a...

Iowa Football And The Coaches Poll

I just hope we don't overlook Penn State. Losing their starting quarterback for the season and their head coach being fired, can make a team dangerous. At this point, they have nothing to lose. I can see them using it as a rallying cry.

So is it all Money and NIL?

https://247sports.com/longformarticle/college-footballs-top-50-programs-ranked-by-nil-efforts-235181311/#2472519 Here's link. Last year Indiana was 28th. Shockingly Iowa is at #16. I'm not surprised Oregon is tops at just shy of one billion!! I may not be a Cignetti fan. But you cannot deny, he...

    KF Tenure and future

I would love to see him stick around until his contract expires. I will admit, it seems he is exhausted. Maybe it's just age catching up to him. Idk. What we are is blessed. Blessed to have a coach who has taken this program (with cupboards bare) and made it into a pretty consistent program for...

Major B1G Upset Opens Door for Iowa

THIS!!!! I agree. That's our style of play. Time of possession, defense and field position. We don't have the talent to overcome. Some argue it's self inflicted because we don't change, but I would counter that we are not going to attract a bunch of 5 star recruits and we do with what we have...

Good Article on Colorado and the Economic Realties of the New Age of CFB

I agree. It will come to the point of having these "power" conferences and the rest will get scraps.
