I agree that the hype doesn't always match the actual results. But I am more interested though. It's got me thinking of purchasing a mini package of 3-4 games this year. Sort of a tryout to see if I want to get season tickets next year. I look for attendance to be up quite a bit this year...

I remember seeing something before the season about how xx number of years in a row there is a preseason top 10 team that ends up out of the rankings. It happens virtuallly every year. Penn State will certainly be in that category this year.

It seems like Rutgers starts out every game with things going well and they take a decent lead. Then they fall apart and lose. Washington, on the other hand, seems to start slow and trail most of their games, then come back to win.

One tidbit that I read was that Trey Thompson has exceeded expectations so far and is looking very good, at least offensively, so far. Defense is where he will have to catch up. Also, Isaia Howard is coming off a strong end of last season and has looked the part so far. i.e. making a jump...

Yes, you can play in up to four games and still take the redshirt. You would have to think that is on their minds.

No Patterson. Sounds like his ankle is still an issue. High ankle sprains can be weeks to get back from.

We should know a lot more on this after the press conference later this morning. If Gronowski starts he will have the brace back on (and probably for the remainder of the season). I guess I'm 50/50 on my preference of who should get the start. Wouldn't mind seeing what Hank Brown can do but...

Per Chad Liestikow, she has said that she does not want to go to a school and transfer. She wants to spend all four years at one school. Her dad said that her goal is to be the #1 drafted player in the WNBA when her time is up. A lofty goal, for sure but I like that she is thinking that way.

One of Wetjen's issues is he does not seem to have the ability to get open downfield. Phillips does, and it shows in the statistics of each player. Phillips is getting better and better, along with Gronowski.

Completely agree, might be the worst team in D-I. But it didn't matter in that game. We most likely had defensive calls that were pretty vanilla against a team like that and we were not aggressive. The last two games the turnovers have been very impactful even if against Indiana it didn't...

Yes, just two turnovers forced by the defense. But, they have both come in the last two games and against better competition. I'm not as worried about this as I was after game three.
