I think Nunge will get zero minutes playing the point next year.

The Rutgers big guy was demoralized by his inability to stop Garza, not by Garza hamming it up for the crowd and the opposing bench. I would prefer letting the quality of his play do the talking. It sure does have a lot to say.

I dont find his actions "thugish", just a little over the top. I would like to see him tone it down a bit, but of course I'm old.

That's correct, room, board tuition and he would send two guys in a jeep to pick me up and delivery me to west point.

I have a funny story about my recruitment. One of the schools that was after me was Army. There is no way I was going to west point. I had to tell coach K to quit calling me every day, I am not interested. I may have been the last recruit to tell him no.

Before the start of this season, I had been hoping for an all big 10 type season out of Nunge. All I was saying was that he was not off to that kind of start. It is no certainty for me now that he will be better than Kreiner next season.

I hope that is true, but Nunge really had not showed that prior to going down to injury this season.

I think you are getting your cause and effect reversed. Good teams have loud crowds. Loud crowds do not make teams good.

Clearly, not as much. As originally stated, the crowd can add some energy to a team.

Not as much as the players being comfortable in their own venue and following their normal routines.

A small fish like ISU (or Iowa for that matter), would get fried for the type of abuse the big guys get away with every day.

I think most fans place far too much importance on the actions of the fans in the arena. Yes, they can pump up the team a bit, but I dont think they very often affect the outcome of even a close game.

If you wont cheer for an exciting team because knitting lady may tell you to sit down, that's on you.

As I have said before, there is not likely to be any more hype around Garza next year than there is right now. You have to strike while the iron is hot, so if he projects as a first rounder, he would be foolish to come back.
